Illusion of Gaia(Super Famicom)

Boss, Babel rematch, and hidden-mansion guide

Covers 5 ordinary boss types, tower rematches, Dark Gaia's 2 forms, and the mansion boss accessed with 50 jewels. Check vulnerable actions, evasion, and form conditions.

Scope: Original Japanese Super Famicom version (1993) / Content checked: October 2, 2026

Lava Body (Inca)

  1. Break both hands first to make the main body vulnerable.
  2. After hitting the head, move upward as the boss glows. Do not keep attacking from directly in front.
  3. Approach after its attack ends. During the rematch, watch beam counts and paths and wait for openings.

High Wind (Sky Garden)

  1. Attack from within Freedan's sword reach. Check its path and facing rather than chasing its moved body in a straight line.
  2. Slash from the side during its breath action. Block feather projectiles with L/R and move out of charge paths.
  3. In the rematch, it changes direction after one hit. Do not stay in the previous spot trying to land repeated blows.

Jackmond and Silvana (Mu)

  1. Do not stand between the 2; concentrate attacks on one from an outer edge. Leave places where pillar and other attacks overlap.
  2. Reduce them to 1, then attack the survivor. Do not attempt continuous attacks where hits keep pushing you back.
  3. After defeating both, cut the planted bomb's fuse too. Watch the timer and keep acting after combat.

Sand Fanger (Great Wall)

  1. Do not ignore eggs and offspring. Defeat offspring before chasing the main body to secure space to move.
  2. Use a position below where it sinks as your base and attack upward on emergence. Check where it appears before approaching.
  3. Egg-laying also provides attack opportunities. If eggs hatch, defeat the offspring and return to the base position.

Pharos (Pyramid)

  1. Use Freedan's Earthquaker from a high ledge to stop the main body when it merges.
  2. Strike with the sword while it is stopped. Do not keep attacking the presumed main-body position while it remains split.
  3. The same earthquake tactic is unavailable in Babel's rematch. Use Aura in danger and attack fragments to encourage merging.

Dark Gaia, first form

  1. Aim Shadow's Firebird at the mouth. Ordinary A attacks launch birds.
  2. The opening is when the mouth opens and releases light projectiles. More attacks while it is closed will not advance the fight.
  3. Move out of incoming projectile paths and use the Aura Ball to survive danger. Wait for the mouth to open again.

Dark Gaia, next form

  1. Hit the mouth with upward Firebirds before the large beam. Separate attacking time from evasion time.
  2. Block yellow light projectiles with L/R. Select the Aura Ball and use B to liquefy and evade the large beam.
  3. Fully heal with an herb when in danger. Reselect Aura afterward to prepare for the next beam.

Gem / Solid Arm (hidden mansion)

  1. Heal and save before reporting 50 jewels to Gem. Use Tem's technique to pass beneath the mansion stairs.
  2. Lure it sideways from below, then move onto the central flowing platform when the body leaves the center.
  3. Approach with a jumping attack and slash, then retreat downward before it returns. Do not keep attacking during its close-range sweep.
  4. Block distant projectiles with L/R, then lure it sideways again. Repeat brief attacks according to HP and remaining herbs.
