Dungeon Clawler
Dungeon Clawler Characters: 28-Character Roster and Unlocks (PC 1.1.2)
Choose a character to suit your goal: a more reliable first run, a different claw, or a specific unlock. Search the 28-character roster for abilities and conditions, then prepare the required items with a character you already have.

Choose your first character by playstyle and restrictions
For a first run, Sir Bunalot is a practical choice for learning when to collect attacks or shields. If you switch to Count Clawcula for healing through damage, plan around his inability to gain Block. Unlock difficulty and ease of play are separate: you do not need to unlock a secret character before trying for your first clear.
The roster covers 28 characters from the checked PC sources. Each entry highlights a character mechanic, what to look for next and an unlock condition. English names are used for characters and items; this is not a complete list of starting decks or stat multipliers.
| Goal | Candidate | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| Learn the basics | Sir Bunalot | Use the Block gained at the start of each turn, but collect attacks too so you can defeat enemies. |
| Healing through attacks | Count Clawcula | You cannot gain Block. Check your remaining health and which attacks will heal you. |
| Collect Metal | Scrappy | Use the Magnet to collect Metal items together, while keeping essential non-Metal items. |
| Share the work with a pet | Felina | Keep both Cream Puff and your own character alive. |
| Activate an item again | Anne Bunny | Once Anne is unlocked, check whether the Harpoon can reach the item you want to trigger again. |
| Use shrunken items | Captain Coney | Before unlocking him, use shrinking tools available to another character. |
Separate starting items, pets and special claws
Whistle is in Nanny Fran’s starting deck, while Cream Puff is Felina’s pet. Scrappy’s Magnet, Anne Bunny’s Harpoon and Captain Coney’s Propeller are special claws. Check which type of benefit a character starts with.
In the first fight, check the enemy’s next action and which attack, defense or healing items you can collect. Add whichever role is missing when you choose rewards. Keep items that help you survive the current turn rather than filling the machine only with character-specific items.
- Choose an unlocked character and inspect its passive and current deck.
- Read enemy intent and remaining health, then aim for the item this turn needs.
- Add attacks when enemies survive; add protection or healing when you can attack but cannot survive.
- For an unlock attempt, identify whether the condition counts a current stack, machine contents, the deck or a single attack.
How to read the roster and unlock conditions
Sir Bunalot, Scrappy, Felina and Count Clawcula are the 4 starting characters. The other 24 have unlock conditions listed below. The 3 characters added in 1.0 and the 3 added in 1.1.1 are marked separately. Secret-room conditions are hidden in spoiler sections.
Conditions retain “over” and “more than” where the sources use those terms. Do not read them as “at least” or stop at the exact number. The game’s internal threshold checks have not been tested here; if an unlock does not trigger at a boundary, read its condition on the character-selection screen.

| Upgrade every item in your deck in the Blacksmith’s room. |
Unlocking a character is different from winning with it
Named Steam achievements such as Spinarosa require winning a run with that character. Unlocking the character does not award the win achievement. Lucky Paw rewards are also separate from character unlocks.
Spinarosa needs at least 20 Spikes held simultaneously. The official 1.0 notes changed Spikey Shield to 3 normally and 5 upgraded; do not mix those values with the older 5/10 table. The focused guide explains the preparation.
Distinguish machine contents from total deck size, and a single attack from an entire turn. Those checks matter for Coney, Greg and Anne.
Version scope and the next guide
This guide covers the PC/Steam 1.1.2 series, using official notes and other sources checked on October 17, 2026. It separates the 3 characters added in 1.1.1 from later 1.1.2 fixes. Switch and mobile update parity, and in-game completion of every unlock, remain unverified.
This guide does not list every starting-deck copy, test the game’s internal thresholds or cover every secret-room step. Read the character-selection condition and item descriptions before starting an unlock attempt.
Questions and answers
Who is a practical first character?
Sir Bunalot is a practical starting point for learning attack and Block pickups. Count Clawcula cannot gain Block, so the same shield-heavy plan will not transfer.
Does shrinking an item 10 times unlock Coney?
The listed condition counts at least 10 shrunken items currently in the machine, rather than the cumulative number of shrinking actions.
Does Spinarosa need 20 Spikes on my character?
Hold at least 20 simultaneously on your character. Block, enemy Spikes and cumulative gains are different values.
