This bilingual guide uses the official Update 8 and version 1.0 notes for the same selected scope: six build directions, eight encounters and five preparation groups. Region, equipment and settings matter. Difficulty letters are editorial comparisons, not official ranks or a gameplay-tested complete final-boss walkthrough.

🗺️ Progression Roadmap
Three phases covering the first Flame Altar, survivor rescues, safe Shroud trips and later goals. It is a suggested route, not a complete version 1.0 or final-boss walkthrough.
- 1 Build the first Flame Altar
Follow the opening tutorial and establish the first Flame Altar and a small base. Read the distinction between Upgrade Altar and Strengthen the Flame, then use the displayed requirements to plan the next step. Do not assume placing an altar immediately pushes back the Shroud at default settings.
- 2 Gather the basic materials the next recipes need
Collect wood, stone, twigs and plant fiber for tools and the first base. Look at the intended recipes and keep spare capacity for exploration finds. Stocking 400 of every material is an optional building plan, not a requirement to progress.
- 3 Rescue the Blacksmith early
Track the Blacksmith rescue quest and complete the interaction at its actual location. Summon the rescued Blacksmith at the base and work through the requested stations. Recipes depend on the relevant progression; rescuing one survivor does not instantly unlock every metalworking item.
- 4 Establish a ranged or melee starting direction
Choose a bow or melee weapon and the supporting skills you currently need. Balance damage with stamina, defense and mobility. Ranged spacing may help in some encounters, but no starting style is guaranteed safest everywhere.
- 5 Make short initial Shroud trips
Check the visible timer, prepare an exit and gather the specific materials your recipes request. Return before the safety margin is gone. Do not assume Flame 3 grants a fixed fifteen-to-twenty-minute allowance.
- 1 Rescue the survivors needed for food and building
Progress the Farmer and Carpenter quests as those facilities become useful. Food production and building recipes depend on the corresponding survivors, tools and stations. Follow the current journal rather than a mandatory fixed rescue sequence.
- 2 Prepare for the Fell Thunderbrute
Watch its committed melee attacks, dodge and counter, or use ranged spacing. For an encounter inside the Shroud, retain time to leave after collecting loot. Shroud Cores and heads have specific uses; an assumed bundle of two early equipment recipes is not the progression rule.
- 3 Strengthen the Flame for the next route
Read the next Flame level’s actual materials and access effects. Prepare the relevant encounters and environment rather than treating Flame 5–7 as a universal mid-game timer band.
- 4 Tackle the encounters required by progression
Use the current Flame recipes and quests to choose the next real target, such as Scavenger Matron, Fell Wispwyvern, Fell Monstrosity or Fell Sicklescythe. Choose the encounter order and preparation according to the region and your equipment.
- 5 Prepare equipment upgrades and the relevant survivors
Review rune costs and the upgrade options for gear you intend to keep. The Blacksmith, Huntress and Alchemist serve different equipment types. Consult the survivor responsible for the weapon or armor you use.
- 1 Prepare for the Fell Cyclops and other later encounters
Bring suitable equipment, recovery and cold protection for the Albaneve Summits. Learn the individual encounter’s attacks and use the preparation and loot reference. Account for the region’s cold and the enemy’s actions, leaving room for recovery and movement.
- 2 Review later Flame progression
Continue the current Flame requirements and confirm which region or encounter provides each material. Version 1.0 includes Flame 11, with Shroud pushback and a maximum of sixteen altars at that level. Gather the required materials according to the acquisition hints shown in the game.
- 3 Follow the current later-region quests
Use the journal and current map access to continue beyond the earlier regions. This article does not provide a verified strategy or identity for the version 1.0 final boss. Prepare according to the objectives shown in your current quests.
- 4 Refine or respec the build
Use the available points and reset options to try a different role or hybrid direction. Check prerequisites and current node effects. Do not assume late-game play grants enough points to unlock every skill simultaneously.
- 5 Build a larger base with friends if desired
Up to sixteen players can cooperate on construction and gathering. Plan shared storage, work areas and travel routes before expanding. Large fortress building is an optional late-game goal; sharing images of your own construction is common in the community.
| Checkpoint | Time and effect to check | Planning checkpoint |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Read the current HUD | Initial short trip and exit route |
| 2 | Review the next strengthening recipe | Gather only the materials currently requested |
| 3 | Check active skills and consumables | Prepare the next region and relevant encounter |
| 4 | Leave a return margin | Repeat a route only after checking its actual resource yield |
| 5 | Flame 11 in version 1.0 | Default Shroud pushback unlock; world settings can alter the requirement |
