Choose a weapon and current skills rather than a fixed strongest class. Bow builds need spacing and ammunition; magic needs mana and spells; melee needs defense, evasion and attack openings. Coordinate healing and enemy attention in co-op. Update 8 and version 1.0 changed skills and gear, so read the current node and equipment descriptions before choosing effects.

Check the requirements and effects of Strengthen the Flame at a Flame Altar. Upgrade Altar is a separate action chiefly related to building range. Read the current HUD and active skills or consumables for exploration time. Version 1.0’s Shroud pushback unlocks at Flame 11 by default, with a world setting that can change the requirement.

Co-op supports up to sixteen players. Divide gathering, construction, exploration and combat, and coordinate departures, exits and healing. World settings and encounters matter, so this guide does not claim bosses never scale. Solo players need their own damage, defense and recovery.

Follow the opening quests to establish a Flame Altar and base; gather the wood, stone and plant fiber needed; progress survivor rescues and summon craftspeople such as the Blacksmith; prepare equipment and supplies for short trips; and use the next Flame recipe to choose the following exploration target.

Check the building range and start small: foundations and floor, walls and roof, required stations, then storage and lighting. Meet survivor and station requirements while keeping paths and expansion space clear. Flame Altars are not unlimited: version 1.0 allows sixteen at Flame 11.

Early Access began on January 24, 2024. The official Steam store lists the full release as October 15, 2026. Update 8, Forging the Path, released on April 21, 2026 and reworked skills, equipment upgrades and Adventure Sharing. Check the relevant store for platform availability. This is a reference-based guide, not certification of every feature or gameplay testing.

Upgrade Altar and Strengthen the Flame are separate: check the former for building range and the latter for Flame progression and Shroud access. Use the next requirement list to choose gathering or encounter targets. Carry food and recovery supplies, leave inventory space, collect the intended materials and return with a safety margin.

Progress from the Springlands through Revelwood, Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes, then follow current quests and Flame requirements into later regions. Relevant head materials include Scavenger Matron, Fell Wispwyvern, Fell Monstrosity and Fell Sicklescythe. Encounter levels vary by location; the editorial difficulty letters are not fixed enemy levels. This is not a complete walkthrough of every version 1.0 region or the final boss.
