Solutions differ between surface and underground, crates and rooms, and ice and wind. Even when replaying for achievements, match the events before and after the target scene. Contains solutions.
Chapter 7: Volcano inn, bird dish, hot spring, and escape
Return above ground to rotate maps that cannot be edited underground. Check from the ladder that underground passages opened rather than connecting only the surface appearance.
| Scene | Action | Success check |
|---|---|---|
| Inn reception | Climb the ladder, speak to Sambo, and collect the reception paper. Speak to Pinko on the new piece. | Can descend underground. |
| Underground magnetism | Editing is unavailable, so return to the surface and rotate the central piece 180 degrees. | A route opens to the underground lava fountain. |
| Inn tour | Watch the fountain scene, return to the ladder, speak to Pinko, and ride the lift. | Can collect paper on the piece with 2 bird statues. |
| Kitchen | Connect the new piece, descend the ladder, and speak to Pinko and the cook to the west. | Learn the objective of obtaining a bird. |
| Bird and crater | Wait for the bird above ground and check its direction after passing through the crater. | The roasted bird turns 90 degrees. |
| Send the bird back and forth | Rotate the crater piece to send the bird to the valley, then rotate the valley piece 180 degrees to return it to the crater. Repeat. | After 3 passes through the heat, the bird falls below. |
| Deliver the dish | Collect the bird and paper underground, give the bird to the cook, and sit at the table. | Can use the next inn piece. |
| Next inn sector | Place the new piece north of the valley, rotate it, and check underground that the passage opens. | Can proceed to the goat and another lift. |
| Hot-spring sector | Speak to people in the new location and use the bed. Collect underground paper and add it above ground. | The route opens with the ladder above the rock. |
| Square inn | Add the next revealed paper to the square and visit the dry hot spring underground. | Learn that water must be supplied. |
| Water outlet | Enter the spurting-water hole from above ground and clear the blockage. | Next, heat the hot spring. |
| Goat key | Return through the kitchen and lift to reception and receive a carrot from Sambo. | The goat's destination menu opens. |
| To the crater | Ride the goat to the crater, speak to Pinko, and descend the rope. Pull it to signal. | Equipment-operation instructions begin. |
| Operate equipment | Go to the far wall and toggle the left/right switches. Turn the wheel according to Pinko's instructions. | Shaking begins. |
| Return to the rope | If danger arises on the way back, quickly rotate your current piece repeatedly. | The whirlwind grows and pushes you outside. |
| Move away from the eruption | Move the piece carrying the people far enough away that the volcano piece leaves the screen. | Return to the hot-spring scene. |
| Optional whirlwind | After returning above ground, continuously rotate the erupting cross-shaped volcano piece. | Secret-piece achievement. Distinguish it from rotation during the escape alone. |
| Departure | Ride the goat to reception and receive a paper airplane from Sambo. Board the minecart. | Revisit the Story Chalet. |
Chapter 8: Three crate puzzles, voyage, and four fish
Small crates can be stacked on larger ones. For puzzle 3, switch from moving individual crates to swapping whole rooms. Minimum-move details are on the achievement page.
| Scene | Action | Success check |
|---|---|---|
| Chalet revisit | Connect the chalet, read the central book, and speak to the chalet resident. | Proceed to crate puzzle 1. |
| Crate puzzle 1 | Move the small crate to the center, the large crate to the right, then stack the small crate on the large one at the right. | Complete in 3 moves. |
| Crate puzzle 2 | Report upstairs, then legally move the 4 crates, starting with the smallest, to stack them on the right. | See the achievement page for the minimum 15-move solution. |
| Crate puzzle 3 | Report again, then open the map after seeing the many underground crates. Swap the crate room from left to right. | Complete in 1 action. |
| Island book | Speak to the chalet resident, then to Shianan in the island room. Read “The Dirt of Luck.” | Can sail from the pier. |
| Voyage 1 | Look at the direction indicated by the worm in your inventory and tell Shianan where to go. | Proceed to the next worm shape. |
| Voyage 2 | Read the worm's shape as a letter. Choose north for an N shape. | Proceed to the 11 shape. |
| Voyage 3 and 4 | Choose the direction of 11 o'clock, then the option corresponding to “all.” | Arrive at the island. |
| Island residents | Speak to all 7 people on the island. | Shianan appears. |
| Fishing-festival lake | Arrange river and lake pieces into a fish shape. | The fishing festival begins. |
| Fish clue | Speak to the boy holding a stick on the shore and receive a drawing of 4 fish. | View the shapes in your inventory. |
| Catch 4 fish | Match the lake outline to the fish drawings. Fish after the moving-water indication, then act when the float moves. | Catch 1 per shape, for all 4. |
| Optional short fish | Create a short outline using only the head and tail, then fish the same way. | Reel in a secret piece. |
| Chapter end | Speak to the person asking to see the 4 fish. | Travel to the iceberg. |
Chapter 9: Ice, wind, three monument patterns, and light
You cannot stop partway across ice, so reconnect the neighboring piece after stopping. In the windy forest, walking is possible only with the wind; rotate pieces to change the direction for approaching the backpack.
| Scene | Action | Success check |
|---|---|---|
| Red-haired person | Speak to the person at the southwestern bridge and receive a winter scarf and paper. | Can connect a new white-snow piece. |
| First backpack | Proceed northeast, move the piece from the white snow, and speak to the fur-clad person. Return the piece toward the storeroom and take the backpack. | Can request bridge repairs. |
| Cross the bridge | Deliver the backpack and enter the blue forest. Reconnect the movement piece and collect paper beyond the first bridge. | Can reach land with a pond. |
| Pond | Speak to the pond resident and collect nearby paper. | Can create an ice path to the center. |
| Ice entrance | Walk to the signed ice piece, slide across, and stop at its edge. | Open the map here and align the next edge. |
| Slide to the center | Connect ice to the central square piece. After crossing, turn the Z piece upside down and connect it to the unsigned ice. | Reach the next stopping point. |
| Village entrance | Continue the ice from the stopping point and slide along the long route. | Stop by the spear-carrying person. |
| Village paper | Collect paper on the village mat and open the gate toward blue snow. | Can cross the bridge to white snow. |
| Tower boy | Speak to the boy at the tower and receive paper. | Can reconnect a route to the fur-clad person. |
| Second backpack | Speak to the fur-clad person and check the bridge's weather vane. | Learn the objective of taking the backpack in the windy forest. |
| Enter the wind | Rotate the piece so the bridge follows the wind and enter the forest. Rotate the piece 180 degrees to slide, then align left/right with the backpack. | Use the examine action in front of the backpack. Passing nearby does not collect it. |
| Monument | Deliver the backpack and inspect the monument's pattern. Rotate your current piece to see its other faces too. | Can read three patterns. |
| Three patterns | Reproduce 1 pattern at a time on the map and check until a circle lights on the monument. | Once lit, you may dismantle the layout and build the next pattern. |
| Send light to the tower | Use the rule that light from the monument turns 90 degrees at obstacles; change pieces' positions and orientations. | A new piece appears when light reaches the tower. |
| Treasure piece | Return to the village and connect a walkable route to the new narrow piece. | Can reach the central treasure chest. |
| Open the chest | Speak to everyone gathered and stand in the empty place near the elder. | The elder opens the chest. |
| Leave the island | Collect the paper airplane and speak to the person near Shianan, Shianan, and the other villagers. Finally tell Shianan you are ready to depart. | Proceed to the final chapter. |
See the original-coordinate tables in “Monuments and the Final Seven Maps” for the three monument patterns and seven straight light segments. For ice sliding, compare your pieces and stopping position; do not use a character as a piece's name.
Chapter 10: From the chalet's hidden door to completing seven regions
The final map does not require one fixed picture. Proceed after confirming that edges match and every piece is connected into a single whole.
| Scene | Action | Success check |
|---|---|---|
| Chalet revisit | Connect the entrance to your current location and watch the scene with the chalet resident and Shianan. | Can read a new book. |
| Rolled paper | Read the lower-right book in the typewriter room. | The room-layout clue enters your inventory. |
| Hidden door | Match rooms to the clue's pattern and connect staircases. | A new door appears on the left of the lower floor. |
| Chalet basement | Enter the door and use the central lever to descend. Leave the room and enter the tree. | Can follow Shianan onto the branches. |
| Island map | Match coastline, grassland, and forest edges to connect every piece. | The Complete Map prompt appears. |
| Grassland map | Match grassland and path edges without leaving any piece behind. | Use the completion action to advance. |
| Forest map | Connect forest, river, and path edges. | Complete after all pieces form a single whole. |
| Surface hub outside the chalet | Connect six sectors: forest hole, grassland, chalet forest, volcano, desert, and sea/boat. Separate from indoor staircases. | Connecting all six sectors enables the completion action. |
| Desert map | Connect sand types and oasis edges. | Confirm every piece is connected. |
| Volcano map | Match volcano edges and return detached pieces. | Proceed to the completion action. |
| Iceberg map | Match snow and ice edges into a single whole. | Proceed to the seven-region completion scene. |
| Last piece | Speak to Shianan and connect the airship piece to your current piece. | The story ends. The secret-airship achievement has separate requirements. |
Final chalet: Align eight rooms' outline and the red entrance's level
After reading the scroll, create a bent passage five columns wide and four levels tall. Count columns 1–5 from left to right and levels 1–4 from top to bottom. The top level spans columns 3–5, the bottom columns 1–3. Join top and bottom through the central vertical column.
The red-entrance room is at level 3, column 3. Connect staircase rooms above and below it, then ordinary rooms along the upper and lower horizontal corridors. Check diagonal stairs, passage openings, and the scroll outline rather than placing rooms only by their regional appearance.
- Read the lower-right book in the typewriter room to obtain the clue scroll.
- Place eight rooms in the outline above and connect staircase and corridor edges.
- Descend one level from the red entrance and proceed to the secret door at the horizontal corridor's far left.
- After the conversation inside, descend using the central lever. Leave, enter the tree, and proceed to the final seven-region map puzzles.
| Position | Room role | Walkable connection |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1, column 3 | Left endpoint of the upper corridor | Orient to climb from the level 2 stairs and proceed right. |
| Level 1, column 4 | Central room of the upper corridor | Connect left and right openings. |
| Level 1, column 5 | Right endpoint of the upper corridor | Enter from the left. Closes the outline's right edge. |
| Level 2, column 3 | Staircase room above the entrance | Connect stairs between levels 1 and 3. |
| Level 3, column 3 | Red-door entrance room | Reference for stairs ascending above and descending below. |
| Level 4, column 1 | Left endpoint of the underground corridor | When correctly completed, a secret door appears farther left. |
| Level 4, column 2 | Central room of the underground corridor | Connect left and right openings. |
| Level 4, column 3 | Staircase room below the entrance | Orient to descend from level 3 and proceed left. |
Even after moving the original rooms, restore the reference by placing the entrance at level 3, column 3. This eight-room layout reveals the secret door; it is separate from arranging every piece across the next seven regions.
