SteamWorld Dig 2: 96 Secret Rows and Acquisition Categories for 84 Cogs

Main-story, Artifact and Secret ledgers expanded · Updated 2026-10-13

This ledger also covers Cogs, ore, characters and hidden exits outside normal caves. The 84 comprise 77 in the world/caves and 7 sold by Trader Carson. The shop stock is not assigned to unknown caves; unidentified world locations remain listed separately.

SteamOverwhelmingly Positive95%(9,155 reviews)

96 rows and 84 Cogs are different counts

The regional ledger has 28/2/29/10/5/8/14 rows, totalling 96. A single row can contain an Artifact and multiple Cogs, so 96 is not the Cog count.

The 77 world/cave Cogs plus the 7 sold by Trader Carson in El Machino make 84 in total. The shop Cogs are stock at 1 location below, not guesses filling in 7 undiscovered caves. The 16 world rows marked “Location details unidentified” still lack complete location descriptions.

Where to obtain the remaining 7 | Trader Carson

Visit Trader Carson on the left of El Machino’s 2nd level from the top. Obtain Cogs through the shop’s purchase menu, rather than assigning them to Mods at the workbench.

All 7 shop Cogs are stock from the same character. Searching only for the world’s 77 will not increase this purchased portion. Prices and unlock timings for all 7 stages have not been checked against the current UI, so no unverified total budget is listed.

Do not search for unidentified locations using only generic wall descriptions.

Of the original 22 unidentified rows, 6 have been expanded using Patch Wall Grotto, the first Tube, Below the Wall and the route to the eastern surface as starting points. The remaining 16 still lack confirmed detailed locations, for reasons such as multiple walls of the same colour. When using this ledger to mark pickups complete, also compare in-game regional percentages and collection counts.

The acquisition category for the 7 shop Cogs is confirmed, but that does not resolve the 16 unidentified world-location rows. Do not double-count unlocated Cogs as shop stock; check each starting point separately.

Check named Artifacts in the 42-Artifact list and cave movement in caves and puzzles.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Q1 Are the 96 rows a complete map of 96 Secrets? ▼
A

No. This is a regional ledger for checking 96 descriptions in the reviewed materials. It distinguishes the 16 rows whose precise locations remain unidentified and the additional trial reward.

Q2 Do the 77 Cogs alone make all 84? ▼
A

In addition to the 77 world/cave Cogs, 7 are purchased from Trader Carson in El Machino. Check the remaining stock at the shop on the left of the 2nd level from the top. Confirming the shop stock is separate from completing a map of every world location.

Q3 Do hidden exits without items matter too? ▼
A

The hidden exit from Windy Plains to Archaea is checked by entering the area, not only by collecting items. Do not judge all Secrets by Artifact or Cog counts alone.
