Read a dish's taste separately from the Craving that follows

When choosing a dish, distinguish the taste it satisfies now from the taste it connects to afterward. Do not infer a card's in-game flavours solely from its name or real ingredients. Feeding amount, stamina and additional abilities depend on seasoning, equipment and updates. Unverified rules such as a double bonus for matching regions of origin or a guaranteed 2× effect from a particular dish have been removed.

Order for adopting a new dish

  1. Find flavours that fail to connect in your deck. Identify why your hand stalls before adding a powerful dish.
  2. Distinguish a candidate satisfying the current Craving from one setting up the next card.
  3. When adding more cards of the same role, check whether this reduces ways to connect to other tastes.
  4. Check stamina cost and the remaining hand as well as feeding amount.
  5. Look for another flavour, ability or consumable as an escape option against difficult opponents.

Inspect the resulting card before using seasoning

Seasonings change a dish's flavour or abilities. Instead of deciding effects from their names, check which Craving the modified card connects to before using them. Even a change strengthening one card may make it harder to use if it breaks the whole deck's chain. Consider dishes played before and after your main card too.

Do not confuse real ingredients with in-game cooking requirements

The dishes draw on real British and Irish food, but real recipes cannot simply become an in-game ingredient table. The old ingredient descriptions have been corrected so they are not used as confirmed game requirements. When cooking a new dish, check unlocked recipes, required ingredients and quantities owned on the cooking screen. Unlocking a recipe and assembling its ingredients during that run are separate tasks.

Coverage still missing

Individual checking remains for all 62 dishes' flavours, next Craving, feeding amount, stamina, abilities, ingredients and unlock conditions. Gaps will not be filled with speculative dishes. Do not equate the number of unlisted dishes with the old 25 speculative entries; compare against the full-release dish ledger. Confirming a name does not mean all its effects are confirmed.

Frequently asked questions

Does this list all 42 recipes?

No. That old count included speculative dishes. The official 1.0 description lists 62; this page offers selected examples and principles for building a deck.

Can I choose cards from how dishes taste in real life?

Prioritize in-game flavour and ability displays. Do not infer multiple tastes or bonuses from real ingredients.

Should Bland cards always be discarded?

The old blanket dismissal as worthless has been removed. Judge from the card's ability, current mode and deck connections.
