Scope of this Super Famicom guide

This guide covers the Japanese Super Famicom version. The PC-98 game 46 Okunen Monogatari: THE Shinkaron is a separate title with different combat and evolution systems.
Overseas names are not added as separate Japanese creatures. Parts whose costs differ between Japanese and overseas sources remain on hold until they can be checked again in the in-game menu.
Stats for every creature, healing amounts for every meat type and the destinations of all fortress warps have not been cross-checked.

📋 Overview of the walkthrough steps

Fish and amphibians

Choose biting or jumping, then evolve accordingly

・Eat meat to gain EVO.P
・Points reset when the chapter changes
・Reserve healing costs for the bee battles

Dinosaurs and the Ice Age

Choose bird side trips or a mammal

・Re-enter the area for Mother Frog
・Enter the cloud as a bird and record special forms
・Finish the fortress, then return to the ice door

Chapter 5: Eden

Check branches and deal with every orb

・Choose a mermaid as a mammal in the Final Sea
・Look for the UFO on a save that remains a bird
・Alternate attacks between Bolbox's main body and the orbs

Q1 How do I restore HP during a battle? ▼

Besides eating meat, you can fully heal by spending EVO.P to evolve a body part. Before a boss, check your healing reserve and which parts you can afford.

Q2 Where do I evolve into a bird? ▼

Jump off the left side of the summit of Mt. Courage in Chapter 3. After becoming a bird, proceed using flight and bird-specific body and tail parts.

Q3 How do I become human? ▼

Choose a mammal from Chapter 4 onward, then equip cat-type jaws and a rabbit-type body. Select the Ramapithecus type and evolve the body repeatedly. You cannot return to your original four-legged form, so keep a separate save first.
