E.V.O.: Search for Eden (Super Famicom)

Chapter bosses and Bolbox

Separate openings when the enemy stops from its attacks, and reserve evolution points for healing. Unverified HP and required hit counts are not given as fixed values.

Scope: Japanese Super Famicom version (released December 21, 1992) / Content checked: October 2, 2026

Chapter 1: Cladoselache

  1. Dodge its charge vertically, then bite while it is stopped after hitting a wall.
  2. Moving behind it still exposes you to a tail counter. Prepare your movement with fins and a tail, then retreat before the next charge.
  3. If you are struggling, evolve an inexpensive part to restore HP. Do not spend all your points before the boss.

Chapter 2: Debuchiostega

  1. Do not stay where it spits liquid; jump out of its line of fire.
  2. When it jumps, check where it will land and either stomp or bite it in midair. Use a dorsal fin and tail to build a body that jumps well.
  3. Do not attack the elder and child arriving after the fight as though they were the same enemy.

Chapter 2: Bee King

  1. Defeat the larvae inside the cave to make it appear.
  2. Move along the ground to avoid the rows of stingers, then bite when it drops lower.
  3. After biting it down, land more attacks while it rises again. Do not remain where stingers can hit you repeatedly.

Chapters 2 and 5: Bee Queen

  1. When it fires stingers, run along the ground out of their line of fire.
  2. Jump over its biting charge. Bite during the pause after it misses.
  3. Watch for the same attacks from the differently colored Chapter 5 version. Do not rush to trade attacks with a head-on charge.

Chapter 3: Primitive Mother Frog

  1. Watch the child being chased, then leave and re-enter.
  2. Do not aim to defeat every small frog as they keep appearing. Approach the mother's landing point and bite.
  3. If you get too far from the mother, return to your target's position instead of continuing to fight among the small frogs.

Chapter 4: the 3 mammoth brothers

  1. A consecutive battle with 3 enemies appearing one at a time. Defeating the first does not end it.
  2. Avoid the bubbles following you and retreat somewhere their charges will not deal heavy damage.
  3. Bite when you have pushed one to the edge. Before the next appears, check your remaining HP and healing points.

Chapter 4: Birdman King

  1. Refusing its proposal to cooperate begins the battle.
  2. Avoid its projectiles and bite when it comes low. Attack as it tries to rise again after falling.
  3. Even repeated attacks at the edge do not guarantee taking no damage. Heal through evolution if you take consecutive hits.

Chapter 4: Yeti and Mama

  1. Jump over Yeti's punches, then stomp or bite. Move in after its attack misses.
  2. Jump over the following Mama's blizzard and wait until its slam ends before countering.
  3. Hit Mama while it prepares its next attack. Avoid continuous contact and heal through evolution even between these consecutive fights.

Chapter 5: the Yeti in the Ape-Man Cave

  1. Do not approach its rapid punch combination head-on. Jump over it and stomp.
  2. After it jumps to change position, catch up to its landing point. If your form can bite, hit before it turns.
  3. Fight by watching the attack cycle rather than relying on a fixed number of hits. If healing points are low, replenish them in the previous area.

Chapter 5: Ragon

  1. Agreeing leads to an ending outside the route to Eden. Refuse if you want to fight.
  2. Even when the light narrows your view, use its last position as a landmark and attack.
  3. Try the attacks available underwater. If you have a horn, also check your facing and reach.
Back to contents ↑

Chapter 5: Cro-Magnon

  1. Being knocked away by its club sends you back to start from the entrance.
  2. Land hits between its attacks and stomps. Use bites or rams and approach during its pauses.
  3. If you miss, dodge the next attack. Heal first rather than stepping in front of the club again with low HP.

Bolbox: alternate between the main body and 8 orbs

  1. Prepare a green crystal and check the record you will use before the fight. Reserve EVO.P for healing too.
  2. The main body spits out an orb at intervals of roughly 80 damage. Do not keep attacking only the main body while an orb remains.
  3. Defeat the creatures emerging from orbs, and wait for the scene to clear, including meat and the fleeing child. The next orb's order is not fixed.
  4. The main body's tentacles also attack during orb battles. Check both sides of the screen instead of focusing only on the creature's bites.
  5. After handling all the orbs, land the final attack on the main body. Not all 8 are opponents to fight; the total includes the meat and child orbs.
