What is Lethal Company?
An order has not arrived, or scrap is on the ship but the quota has not increased. Check the standard PC version's displays and controls, then choose one of three guides covering your first shift, delivery, and equipment.
Edition: PC Steam app 1966720, standard release branch, no mods; basic shifts on a new save. Default PC keyboard/mouse bindings are examples; if you changed them, follow the on-screen prompts. Solo play and co-op for up to 4 players are addressed separately.
Verification scope: Checked October 4, 2026. Uses basic mechanics from V80, The Blooming Update, onward; official announcements confirm its standard release. The official text alone does not establish the latest internal patch number, so this does not assert V81 or another version. Beta, major mods, and translation-mod features are excluded.

Separate collection, storage, and sale
Lethal Company is a co-op horror game about returning scrap from facilities on moons and selling it to the Company to meet quotas. Having items aboard is different from selling them for profit. First identify the stage where you are stuck.

| What to check | This article's baseline | Caution if yours differs |
|---|---|---|
| Version | Standard Steam release, no mods | V80 added a utility slot for purchased tools. Do not reuse old explanations that cover only four slots. |
| Input | PC keyboard and mouse | Use English commands. Follow the on-screen prompts if you rebound keys. |
| Player count | Solo or co-op for up to 4 players | One person cannot operate the ship and explore indoors simultaneously. |
| Scope | Initial preparation through delivery | Does not cover optimal solutions for every moon, enemy, or item, or guarantee survival. |

Check the display immediately before the problem
“Nothing happens” can mean different things: awaiting input, delivery, return, or sale. Each requires a different action.

| Problem | Current state | First check | Guide to read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entering a product name does not buy it | Stopped at confirmation | Available credits, quantity, and whether confirm is awaited | First shift: ordering and collection |
| The flashlight you bought is not on the ship | Order confirmed | Have you landed and opened the outdoor delivery dropship? | First shift: ordering and collection |
| Choosing a destination does not make you land | Only the route is confirmed | Leave the terminal and check the ship lever prompt | Shifts and deadlines: travel and landing |
| Cannot pick up or switch items | Your hands are occupied | Free regular slots, two-handed items, and utility-slot restrictions | First shift: inventory and movement |
| Flashlight or radio does not work | You have the tool | Selected tool, power, battery, and transmission input | Equipment and ship control: power and charging |
| A teammate cannot find the way back | You are viewing the radar | Tracked player's name, direction, and route to the exit | Equipment and ship control: radar |
| The quota did not increase after collection | Scrap is stored aboard | Separate profit already sold under PROFIT QUOTA from stock on hand | Shifts and deadlines: delivery and assessment |
| There are 0 days left | Deadline sale stage | Company buying rate under moons and remaining quota shortfall | Shifts and deadlines: reading days remaining |

Complete a small first round trip
Rather than filling the ship immediately, this example links small checks: receive an order, learn the entrance, place one item aboard, and return.
- Read days remaining and quota on the ship. Choose one necessary tool under store, check the order and cost, then enter confirm.
- Check weather under moons, confirm your route, then land with the lever. Collect the delivery when it arrives.
- Explore briefly while remembering turns beyond the entrance. Check your return speed while carrying an item and your tool's battery.
- Drop the haul inside the ship, check that teammates are aboard and account for items left behind, then return using the lever. Selling is a separate action at the Company.
This is a practice sequence, not a farming plan promising the same moon, time, and income on every run.
Choose a ship operator by capabilities and trade-offs
The operator can read radar information, communicate, and control coded devices. However, they spend less time exploring and carrying items. The smaller the team, the greater this trade-off.
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Role split | What it enables | Agree beforehand | Easy-to-miss point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | Check terminal → explore → return, in sequence | Manage the return route and time buffer yourself | You cannot request remote door operation while exploring |
| Explorer and operator | Switch targets and guide players toward exits and devices | Names, directions, and evacuation signals | Guidance can be counterproductive if you track the wrong person |
| Hauling and brief ship checks | Alternate nearby collection with terminal checks | Who uses the terminal and who carries the loot | Hauling stops while that player checks the terminal |
| Everyone explores | Commit more hands to exploration | Meeting point and decision to return to the ship | No real-time ship support while the ship is unattended |

An operator does not always improve efficiency or survival. Do not assume the ship is unconditionally safe either. Test whether communication works before assigning permanent roles.
