ActRaiser(Super Famicom)

Full Walkthrough for Six Regions and the Finale

Follow regional order to check ACTs, town development, where to use items, and when to return.

Scope: Japanese Super Famicom original (1990; separate from Renaissance) / Content checked: October 2, 2026

Region 1: Fillmore Progression

  1. In ACT 1, first cut down enemies dropped by the human-faced tree, dodge projectiles, then approach its body. Defeat Centaur to revive the people.
  2. Strike trees near the temple with lightning to clear a path. Set the town's direction and shoot monsters with arrows while the construction hourglass completes a cycle.
  3. Increase population and extend roads toward lairs. When a fire is reported, rain on the burning district.
  4. Strike the large southeastern rock with lightning at (5,5), using the upper-left as (0,0), to receive Fire magic. Building a laboratory is not the requirement.
  5. Extend a road southeast of the temple to (5,4) to find a Source of Magic. If missed, check again after ACT 2.
  6. Seal three Napperbad lairs to obtain bridge-building technology. Extend roads to the remaining lairs and seal them all.
  7. In ACT 2, avoid floor spikes. Dodge sideways as Minotaur lands, then attack after its axe movement.
  8. Rebuild low-culture homes after culture rises. Check the fishing Source of Magic and the later rice-farming introduction route before moving on.
  • Using the compass in Fillmore gives a Source of Life; in Marahna, a Source of Magic. There is only one, so decide where to use it first.

Region 2: Bloodpool Progression

  1. Falling into ACT 1's poisonous swamp kills instantly. Cross sinking logs and collapsing bridges, then attack after Manticore lands.
  2. Dry the overworld swamp with sunlight and use Fillmore's bridge-building technology. Build roads guiding people toward lairs.
  3. When Teddy disappears, receive bread from his mother and use it on Teddy south of the lake. Receive the offered Skull of Destruction.
  4. Use the Skull of Destruction on the inaccessible Red Devil lair at (1,6). Receive Stardust magic after the lake is purified.
  5. Develop the town until rice farming begins. Afterward, connect a road to (7,4) in the east and introduce rice farming to Fillmore.
  6. Seal all lairs and enter ACT 2. Beware spikes beyond vertical lifts and attack Wolf Zeppelin when it appears low down.
  7. After ACT 2, receive a Source of Magic from the old castle ruins and the compass. Rain northwest of the lake at (2,2) to find a Source of Life, too.
  8. If conflict stalls the town, use Lovely Music from Kasandora. Repeated rain or lightning does not solve it.
  • Connecting the road before rice farming begins may fail to spread it. Connect after rice farming starts.

Region 3: Kasandora Progression

  1. In ACT 1, move onward rather than chasing overhead fire enemies relentlessly. Time Stardust magic for when Dagoba emerges from the sand.
  2. Rain on the desert to create green land, then extend roads toward lairs and the missing man southeast at (6,3).
  3. Guide people to the man to receive a Source of Magic and obtain Lovely Music. Bring the music to stop Bloodpool's conflict.
  4. After the pyramid appears, cause an earthquake and collect its Source of Life before finishing ACT 2. Do not postpone it until afterward.
  5. Extend a road south to (5,7) and check for a Source of Magic. Seal all lairs, then enter ACT 2.
  6. Watch the pyramid's lifts and bottom spikes. Avoid staying beneath Pharaoh and first destroy the small arrow-firing masks by the walls.
  7. Receive the Ancient Tablet from the geoglyph after development. It provides a clue for investigating Marahna's island next.
  8. When plague is reported, use Marahna's Herbs. If you do not have them yet, progress the next region, obtain them, and return.
  • Prioritize the pyramid's Source of Life before ACT 2. Miracles alone do not cure the plague.

Region 4: Aitos Progression

  1. In ACT 1, beware narrow footholds and volcanic falls. Cut through the tengu's tornadoes and collect apples and Sword Energy along the route.
  2. Azure Dragon's weak point is its head. Stay positioned on the platforms and strike as the head approaches. Do not keep leaping after its body.
  3. On the overworld, clear obstructing rocks and trees with lightning and guide people to four lairs. When the leader is mentioned, check near the temple.
  4. When rain at the temple is requested, provide it. The leader's storyline is normal progression, not a requirement to find healing items and reverse it.
  5. Use the Wind miracle when the windmills stop. Leaving them without wind stalls development.
  6. Receive Sheep's Fleece and a Source of Magic when discovered. Keep the fleece for Northwall's cold.
  7. Seal all lairs and enter ACT 2. Lava kills instantly, so prioritize landing on platforms over pursuing enemies.
  8. Watch and avoid Flame Wheel's central projectile attack, then strike when it approaches during its back-and-forth movement. Equip Stardust before descending if using magic.
  • Sources differ on the timing of mountaineering technology and the Source of Magic. Check discovery messages and the offerings list.

Region 5: Marahna Progression

  1. In ACT 1, jump past spearmen when they stop to thrust, then approach. Attack Rafflesia's exposed core to open the region.
  2. Use Kasandora's Ancient Tablet and investigate the bird-shaped island. Strike its center at (6,1) with lightning to receive Aura magic.
  3. Connect the northwestern island to the mainland with an earthquake. Reset road directions afterward to guide people to its lair.
  4. Develop the town to receive Herbs. Return to cure Kasandora's plague and end the stagnation.
  5. If you still have the compass, using it here gives a Source of Magic. A compass already used in Fillmore cannot be reused.
  6. Seal all lairs and enter ACT 2. The left fork has healing and the right a 1UP, but the right has many lethal spikes, so choose according to your objective.
  7. Kalia dives when you stand beneath it. Dodge sideways and attack; if riding a falling platform, get off before it reaches the ceiling spikes.
  8. When using Aura magic, wait until Kalia approaches within range. Do not repeatedly spend it from too far away.
  • Sources differ on the population for Herbs: about 120 versus over 160. Develop the town and check discovery rather than treating one number alone as the condition.

Region 6: Northwall Progression

  1. In ACT 1, beware icicles and collapsing floors. Watch icy platform edges as you jump, then exploit openings after Merman Fly's projectiles and dives.
  2. Strike the temple at (2,5) with lightning to find a Source of Life. Melt snow with sunlight to extend roads.
  3. When people complain of cold, use Aitos's Sheep's Fleece. Seal the required lairs to enable bridge building.
  4. After meeting bridge and fleece requirements, check for the Source of Magic offering. Do not rush into an ACT before accepting it.
  5. Use sunlight on four frozen-lake tiles east at (5,2), (5,3), (6,2), and (6,3). Once fishing begins, wait until you receive Light magic.
  6. Receive Light magic before sealing the remaining lairs. Sealing every lair first may make the fishing boat disappear and prevent finding it.
  7. Ascend on bubbles late in ACT 2. Blue bubbles burst when ridden, and green ones also burst if you stay aboard, so keep jumping again on green bubbles to rise.
  8. Approach and attack when Frost Wyvern breathes ice, then dodge its charge sideways. Use Aura magic when it is close.
  • Even after giving fleece, the cold event may leave development slow until ACT 2. Do not try to solve it only by waiting.

Death Heim and Satan

  1. Finish ACT 2 in all six regions and return to the Sky Palace. Head to Death Heim, which appears in the northeast.
  2. Before departing, check uncollected Sources of Magic and Life and your equipped spell. You cannot arrange to change spell types during an ACT.
  3. Refight Minotaur, Wolf Zeppelin, Pharaoh, Flame Wheel, Kalia, and Frost Wyvern in that order. Attack fewer times to account for their faster movement.
  4. During Satan's first form, focus on dodging meteors. When the face descends, stay back, crouch, and attack with Sword Energy.
  5. During the second form, use Sword Energy when the core fires light bullets. Crouch to dodge projectiles and cut the homing shots from below as they appear.
  6. Defeat Satan for the ending. After completion, reset and move the cursor below NEW GAME to select SPECIAL.
