Alm's northward advance

Alm: from the border to Fear Mountain
- At the border, check the three allies starting away from the main group. Bring them back with fast-moving allies or rearrange them into a defensible group before fighting.
- In Rigel Forest, watch witch teleport destinations and bring rear units where they will not all be targeted at once. Meeting enemies near healing tiles is another option.
- On Fear Mountain, advance your main fighters toward Marla rather than only chasing the witches she summons. Keep handling remaining witches after defeating her.
- Fear Mountain Shrine is a long detour. Heal and save first, and distinguish Mila's servant, chests, and springs as you explore.

Alm: record Fear Mountain Shrine items by branch
- On reaching B1, separately note the branch to the revival spring and the route farther inside. If no revival is needed, you need not repeatedly revisit that branch just for the spring.
- Continue through the battles inside and look for the Speed Ring chest. Some floor tiles in front send you back upstairs; if returned, retrace the same branch from the entrance.
- On B2, collect the Holy Bow beyond the waterway. Farther in, the Holy Shield and Silver Shield are a choice, so do not assume you can obtain both.
- After collecting the Magic-Blocking Shield on B3, reconsider equipment for the next mansion. No definitive map of shrine enemy counts and every floor connection has been created.
| Location or condition to check | Action to take | Remaining check |
|---|---|---|
| Speed Ring | Deep branch on the B1 side | Watch the teleport tiles before it |
| Holy Bow | Beyond the waterway on B2 | Give it to an ally who can use bows |
| Holy Shield / Silver Shield | Choice deep in B2 | Choose only one |
| Magic-Blocking Shield | Collect on B3 | Check equipment before entering the mansion |

Alm: from Nuibaba's Abode to recruiting Zeke
- Plan for Nuibaba's Medusa by checking remaining HP and healing options. Consider warping a main fighter with the Magic-Blocking Shield close or reaching over the cliff with a bow.
- After battle, speak to Tatiana inside the abode. Check the traveling merchant in the prison too, saving uses for remaining transfers.
- Check that Tatiana has joined the roster before heading to Rigel Plains. With her present, Zeke's side becomes allied and fights Jerome's force.
- Defeat the enemy force without targeting Zeke, then speak to him in Rigel Village. Confirm recruitment before switching to preparations for Celica's army.
Celica sets out again

Celica: through the temple waterway and marsh
- On B1 of the Temple of Mila, head right through the drained waterway. Speak to Nomah and check that he joins.
- From the hidden passage below the waterway, go down, left, then down to the chest with the Magic Ring. If you return to the entrance, distinguish the ordinary path from the hidden one again.
- In the Dead Man's Mire, flying units can cross the poisonous terrain. Keep the main ground force near the healer and reduce cantors in order.
- At Dolth's Keep beyond the Mire Boneyard, prioritize the source of necrodragon summons too. After battle, enter from inside to reach the Lost Treescape.

Celica: routes through the Lost Treescape by destination
- Count from the entrance area. For the Sage's Hamlet, go up two areas, right one, then up one.
- From the entrance, the Silver Lance is up, left, left; the Silver Bow is down, left, left. Retrace your route in reverse to return, then count again from the entrance.
- The Silver Sword is down, down, down, right, right from the entrance. Even if using the mummies along the way for training, record your direction toward the destination.
- Mila's servant is down, down, right, right from the entrance. After promotion and recovery preparations, return to the entrance as your reference point and retrace the route to the hamlet.
| Location or condition to check | Action to take | Remaining check |
|---|---|---|
| Sage's Hamlet | Entrance → up → up → right → up | Meet Halcyon |
| Silver Lance | Entrance → up → left → left | Pass through the fiend area |
| Silver Bow | Entrance → down → left → left | Pass through the arcanist area |
| Silver Sword | Entrance → down → down → down → right → right | Pass through the mummy area |
| Mila's servant | Entrance → down → down → right → right | Check training and promotions |
- These written routes reconstruct the connections described in sources. This is not a map independently tested in every direction through gameplay. Count each area transition once.
A conversation affecting both armies
A conversation affecting both armies — open
Celica: advance Alm's promotion in the hamlet
- Speak to Halcyon in the Sage's Hamlet. This conversation makes Alm a Hero, so do not keep searching only on Alm's side for his promotion.
- In the hamlet house, hear about late-game enemies and check the Defense spring and traveling merchant. The spring has up to five uses at this location. Record recipients and remaining uses.
- Check training and equipment for Celica and the first nine units in her roster, who will participate at the end. If you need merchant transfers, organize both armies' inventories before finishing the tower sequence.
Battles before the tower
Battles before the tower — open
Celica: prepare for summons and army-wide attacks at the gate and marsh
- At Duma Gate, reduce witches first and keep low-magical-defense allies away from concentrated attacks. Bring your main fighters within range before Jamil can keep using army-wide attacks.
- At Duma Marsh, attacks can damage Jedah on turns divisible by four. If you plan to attack, keep your own turn count from the start.
- If aiming for the Dragon Shield, note that defeating the initially placed bigles makes Jedah withdraw. Do not treat the shield as essential; choose ordinary progression if pursuing it strains the army.
- This guide does not provide rare-lance probabilities, fixed-turn kills, or a reproducible procedure guaranteeing everyone's survival.
Celica's final preparations
Celica's final preparations — open
Celica: finalize order and inventories before the tower
- The number of deployable units decreases as you ascend Duma Tower. Place main fighters and healers early in the roster and adjust equipment to handle smaller groups.
- If using springs on different floors, record floor, effect, and remaining uses separately. Do not combine springs on different floors into one remaining total.
- Before speaking to Jedah on the top floor, check the order, equipment, and training of Celica and her first nine roster units. This formation carries into the final battle.
- Use a merchant if items left behind need sending to Alm. Finishing Celica's preparations before taking Alm north of the crater avoids leaving the other army unprepared during consecutive battles.
- Sources differ on deployment counts for individual tower battles, so a fixed numerical table remains withheld. First check the shrinking force and roster order.
Alm's late-game movement
Alm's late-game movement — open
Alm: check split formations at the crater and falls
- Finish Celica's tower preparations before entering Dragon Crater. For necrodragon battles after the path closes, carry healing options in case enemies initiate combat too.
- At the crater and Rigel Falls, lower-listed allies start separated from the main force. Reorder before attempting them so the separated group does not consist only of weak allies.
- At the falls, reach the sources of witch and gargoyle summons. If Warp is available, sending a main fighter is an option, but check that the destination will not leave them surrounded.
- The Secret Shrine to the right of the falls is a detour for checking training and promotions. Before moving on, confirm Alm has become a Hero and check your main fighters' equipment.
Before ending Chapter 4
Before ending Chapter 4 — open
Alm: defeat Rudolf and talk before the chapter ends
- At the fortress, keep flying units outside bow range and limit your entry points to hold the army together. Avoid approaching long-range enemies one at a time.
- The battle at Rigel Castle ends when Rudolf is defeated. You do not need to defeat every enemy; inspect possible destinations for a strong unit using Warp and the healing tiles.
- Approaching with Alm is one option, but that does not stop attacks from surrounding enemies too. Check allied positions and remaining HP before attacking.
- After battle, speaking to Mycen inside the castle recruits him and ends Chapter 4. Finish your save and inventory checks for the final chapter first.
