Prepare to advance both armies
Prepare to advance both armies — open
Check merchants and reinforcements before moving either army
- Starting with Celica's side is one example, not a requirement to move both armies the same number of steps. Record each army's location and next destination separately.
- When a mobile force approaches from an enemy base, check whether it will cause another battle immediately after the base fight. If unprepared, you can wait and meet the moving force first.
- Save traveling merchants for transferring items between armies. Before passing on the Angel Ring, decide the sender, receiving army, and whom you want to train next.
Celica's early progression
Celica's early progression — open
Celica: cross the coast, then return to the port to talk to two allies
- On the Zofia Coast, check which allies begin separated. Avoid leaving only fragile units on the isolated side, and plan to bring them toward the main force with healing.
- Reduce enemies while keeping Palla and Catria alive too. After battle, return to Zofia Harbor and speak to both.
- Check the roster and inventories for their recruitment and the Angel Ring. Talking to them in Chapter 2's port does not replace checking recruitment here.
- Cross the Mountain Graveyard to the Mountain Village and talk to Atlas. Save the village merchant until you have decided which items need transferring.
| Location or condition to check | Action to take | Remaining check |
|---|---|---|
| Zofia Harbor | Revisit and talk after the coast battle | Palla and Catria join |
| Mountain Village | Talk to Atlas inside the village | Save the traveling merchant |
Celica's detours and front line
Celica's detours and front line — open
Celica: prepare for the valley, shrine, and desert
- In the Valley Approach, distinguish the enemy carrying the Shadow Sword from witches. Protect the rear from moving witches, and handle the strong swordsman with several units and a healer.
- If fighting in the Dragon Shrine, limit how many units engage necrodragons at once. Move low-HP allies down and leave HP for magic users' spell costs too.
- Check promotions with Mila's servant. Distinguish the revival spring from ordinary healing points, and record its uses.
- At the Temple of Mila, clear a path to attack the summoner Mikhail. Opening the floodgate involves Celica's later promotion, so if stuck at the temple, check desert-side progression.
Advance to the Desert Stronghold

Celica: check rescue and chests in the Desert Stronghold
- Some allies move more slowly in the desert. Even if flying units go ahead, do not leave them in range of Wolff's Steel Bow.
- After defeating the fort's enemies, enter and talk to Jesse. Collect the Steel Lance from the chest too, checking battle victory separately from completed exploration.
- Your next north-or-south choice changes the recruit. Do not intend to defeat both forces: first read the choice table below and keep a separate save.
Check your choice of ally
Check your choice of ally — open
Celica: the recruit is the opposite of the person you defeat
- To recruit Sonya, fight Deen's force in the northern desert. To recruit Deen, fight Sonya's force in the south.
- In the north, consider physical defense against swords; in the south, prepare for teleporting witches. Neither route recruits the person you defeated after battle.
- After clearing Grieth's Citadel, speak inside to the surviving choice and Est. Check recruitment on the roster before proceeding to the next conversation.
| Location or condition to check | Action to take | Remaining check |
|---|---|---|
| Recruit Sonya | Defeat Deen in the north | Talk to Sonya inside Grieth's Citadel |
| Recruit Deen | Defeat Sonya in the south | Talk to Deen inside Grieth's Citadel |

Celica: from Grieth's Citadel to the Temple of Mila floodgate
- At Grieth's Citadel, handle teleporting witches and secure retreat routes for the rear. Reduce enemies on both sides while checking bow and spell reach, then approach Grieth with the main force and healer together.
- Speaking to the priest inside the citadel makes Celica a Princess. If you want more training before promotion, finish it before this conversation.
- Return to the Temple of Mila and proceed with opening the floodgate. If Alm's floodgate will not progress, first check that this side's action is complete.
- If needed, use the Mountain Village merchant to send items to Alm's army. After finishing transfers, switch the controlled army.
Alm's early progression
Alm's early progression — open
Alm: pass the northern area and forest, then recruit Luthier in the village
- Against the high-Defense armored enemies north of Zofia, the Lightning Sword is an option. Look for a position for this magic-type weapon while keeping a healing route open for the front line.
- In the Zofia Forest, prioritize magical defense when choosing who takes attacks. Do not send a unit with only high physical Defense toward every arcanist.
- In the battle toward the Forest Village, check cavalry destinations and group units where they will not be attacked from above and below at once. Check targets vulnerable to Ridersbane too.
- Speak to Luthier in the village. If the chest will not open yet, continue the fort and Forest Shrine progression first.
Fort rescue and collection
Fort rescue and collection — open
Alm: rescue Mathilda at the fort and collect the Royal Sword
- Advance through Desaix's Fortress with Mathilda's rescue in mind. Assign units to handle the healing arcanist at the lower right, archers, and the summoning cantor instead of ignoring them.
- Attack Desaix from positions that do not let enemies keep using healing tiles. If putting an ally on one, check enemy bow and magic reach there too.
- After battle, speak to Mathilda inside the fort and collect the Royal Sword from the chest. It is exclusive to Alm; do not mistake it for an equipment upgrade for other swordsmen.
- In the next battle against the knights, incorporate your new sword and recruit into the formation. You do not need to send one unit away from the healer into a large enemy force.
Travel between the Forest Shrine and village
Travel between the Forest Shrine and village — open
Alm: rescue the daughter at the shrine and return to the village
- Defeat the gargoyles in the Forest Shrine and meet the girl at the back. Do not return after only the battle: note that you explored all the way inside.
- Return to the Forest Village and advance the post-rescue conversation. Collect the Holy Lance from the chest that becomes accessible.
- North of the forest, bows and witches' attacks overlap. Reduce teleporting enemies before crossing the river and arrange protection for the rear and healers.
The sluice gate and Chapter 3's end
The sluice gate and Chapter 3's end — open
Alm: leave Delthea alive and defeat Tatarrah first
- Decide in advance to leave Delthea alive at the sluice gate. Do not place strong allies where they will defeat her on a counterattack; look for a route to reach Tatarrah.
- If Silque can use Warp, you can bring a main fighter close to Tatarrah. If she has not learned it, keep the option of returning to train for it.
- After defeating Tatarrah first, talk to Delthea inside the sluice gate. Check both her survival and recruitment on the roster.
- Confirm the Temple of Mila floodgate is open on Celica's side, then open Alm's too. If one side alone does not finish the chapter, return to the other army to check.
