Final Fantasy VI(Super Famicom)

Magicite and spells

Lists acquisition conditions, summon MP and growth bonuses for the SFC version's 27 magicite names, 92 learning combinations, and MP costs for 54 spells. Keep GBA-exclusive magicite and Pixel Remaster changes separate.

Scope: Japanese Super Famicom release (April 2, 1994) / GBA additions and Pixel Remaster changes noted separately / Content checked: October 2, 2026

Distinguish the 3 aspects: equipping, learning spells and stat growth

  1. After obtaining your first magicite in Zozo, choose it through Abilities → Espers and press A twice to equip it. One magicite cannot be equipped by multiple people simultaneously.
  2. After battle, each spell's multiplier is applied to the magic learning points, and the spell becomes usable at 100%. For example, 2 learning points at ×5 add 10% in one battle.
  3. A spell at 100% remains usable after removing its magicite. Change magicite when you want to learn other spells.
  4. Check growth bonuses just before leveling up too. Spell-learning multipliers and level-up increases to Strength, Magic and other stats are separate effects.
  5. Choose esper summoning from the battle's Magic list. Check that you have enough summon MP and plan for each magicite to be summoned once per battle.
  • Phoenix's growth bonus is "none." Do not include it in a growth plan as Magic +3.

  • These 3 GBA-added spells, Gravija, Flood and Brave, are not included in this original 54-spell table.
  • Reserve MP for healing, revival and support before attacking. Even after learning powerful magic, your MP determines how often it can be used across consecutive battles.
