7 Alumina and the diving upgrade
Laboratory No. 3, Baku, and Tower of Light: Cooper and the helmet caution
For the fixed-chest helmet in the Tower of Light, visit early after obtaining the ship. Treat early collection separately from the normal key-acquisition event.
Towns and dungeons to check: Shaia Laboratory No. 3 / Pawn Island / Baku / Ancient Cave B5 / Tower of Light / Linze
- After obtaining the Falcon, visit the Tower of Light before searching for Cooper. Use this early window if you want the Ancient Helmet on the top floor.
- Accept the Cooper search at Shaia Laboratory No. 3. Hear information at Baku's church, then search Ancient Cave B5.
- Have Cooper accompany you and bring him back to the professor at Laboratory No. 3. Confirm the request for 7 Alumina.
- Advance the normal Tower of Light event, defeat the Divine Mage on the top floor, and take the Light Key. This remains necessary even if you collected the helmet early.
- Open the door at the back of the tower's first floor with the Light Key to reach Linze.
Companion joining and changes
- Cooper is an accompanying NPC to bring back to the laboratory. Do not assign him an attacking role.
Divine Mage: Secure party-wide healing
- Assign someone to restore the party after group magic attacks. Do not rush attacks while leaving everyone's HP low.
- If you obtained the Wind Flute on Ancient Cave B7, consider it for healing. A fixed recovery amount per use is not guaranteed.
Optional detours
- Pawn Island is an optional shop and collection point reachable by ship. Distinguish it from main-story Alumina requirements, and check your money if visiting just to shop.
Collect and record before proceeding
- Sources differ on the fixed-chest helmet deadline: before searching for Cooper versus before handing him over to the professor. Internal flags remain unverified, so this guide recommends the earlier collection window.
- Even if missed, the Ancient Helmet has another source from late-game enemies. The helmet itself is not treated as permanently unobtainable.
Next progression milestone: Use the Light Key to reach Linze and begin searching for Alumina.

Gaias and Roal: Count chest loot and the rescue reward separately
Roal's chest Alumina and the reward for rescuing Brant are separate. Check meeting the person separately from actually holding the required item.
Towns and dungeons to check: Gaias Island Cave / Cave northeast of the Tower of Light / Mars / Roal Island Cave
- Go to Brant's house northeast of Linze. Follow the basement route to Gaias Island Cave and open the Alumina chest.
- At the 3 entrances lined up on the cave's lower right, the central lever changes the left warp's destination. Confirm the destination changed while exploring.
- Meet Clack on B3 and check his dialogue options. Instead of escaping immediately, also watch the event when walking away and receive the Wave Ring.
- Pass through the cave northeast of the Tower of Light to Mars. Explore the sea's islands and enter Roal Island, where a ship is moored.
- On Roal Island B1, collect Alumina from the small upper-right room. Drop through the hole near the B2 chest to B3.
- Check nearby chests before talking to Brant. Finish the automatic escape after rescue and receive the Alumina reward.
Collect and record before proceeding
- Talking to Brant triggers the escape event. Inspect the area first, but this does not assert that B3 becomes permanently inaccessible.
Next progression milestone: Check your inventory separately for 1 from Gaias, 1 from a Roal chest, and 1 as the rescue reward.

Urup, Elba, and Herat: Gather the remaining 4
Warps move you to sections of other islands, so you cannot manage counts by the name of the island you entered alone. Finally, complete Herat's cooking exchange before entering the treasury.
Towns and dungeons to check: Urup and Elba Island caves / Herat / Lyden / Cave east of Herat
- Explore Urup and Elba Island caves. Check the area identity after warps, counting Urup's 2 and Elba's 1 separately.
- Talk to the king and cook in Herat, then visit the cooking wizard in Lyden. Hear about the required Purple Lizard.
- Enter the cave east of Herat and move the lever in the small upper-right B1 room. Change the warp destination and collect the Purple Lizard.
- Bring the lizard to Lyden and receive Magic Seasoning. Give it to Herat's kitchen, then talk to the king.
- Enter the treasury from right of the castle gate and actually take the Alumina. An open door alone does not mean it has been collected.
- Once you hold all 7 from islands and rewards, return to Laboratory No. 3. If the professor is absent, proceed with the Pirate Tower incident next.
Gaias chest 1 Roal chest 1 + rescue reward 1 Urup chest 1 + another chest on the same island 1 Elba chest 1 Herat treasury 1 Total Alumina held: 7
| Individual piece to check | Source | Easy-to-miss point |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Gaias Island Cave | Talking to Clack and collecting the chest are separate |
| 2 | Roal Island B1 chest | Separate from the rescue reward |
| 3 | Roal Island: Reward for rescuing Brant | Finish the rescue event and receive it |
| 4 | Urup Island Cave: First piece | Check the area after warping between Elba and Urup |
| 5 | Urup Island Cave: Second piece | Check the island's second piece separately |
| 6 | Elba Island Cave | 3 pieces together with Urup |
| 7 | Herat treasury | Talk to the king, then open the chest |
Optional detours
- The Engage Ring in the hidden room off a narrow path in the cave east of Herat is also an optional collection target. Search separately from the main lizard objective.
- Editorial check order if stuck at 6: Brant's reward, Urup and Elba's combined 3, Herat's chest, then Gaias's chest. This is not ranked from statistics on missed items.
Next progression milestone: Gather all 7 Alumina and begin searching for the professor from Laboratory No. 3.

Pirate Tower: Floor sequence and professor rescue
After defeating the boss, take the key and rescue the professor from prison; all of this is required for the upgrade.
Towns and dungeons to check: Shaia Laboratory No. 3 / Pirate Tower
- Confirm the professor is absent from Laboratory No. 3, then head to the Pirate Tower on Aisen Island in the sea northwest of Mars.
- On 4F, step on the 4 floor panels in order: upper left, lower right, lower left, upper right. Only then move in front of the door. A different order triggers an enemy battle.
- On 5F, defeat Pirates and the First Pupil. Watch the Lou event and take the Pirate Key from the chest.
- Return to the prison partway along the route and rescue the professor using the Pirate Key. Sources disagree on the prison floor, so no fixed floor is given here.
- Return to Shaia Laboratory No. 3 and talk to the professor. Confirm the diving upgrade is complete before heading underwater.
Puzzle checks
- Pirate Tower's panels require a stepping order. This differs from the later Glasdar Tower's 3 switches, which use final ON/OFF states.
Pirates and First Pupil: Reduce the pair's actions
- Focus attacks on the First Pupil first to reduce enemy numbers, then turn to Pirates. Bring ways to remove status ailments too.
- After victory, check the key and imprisoned professor before returning to the laboratory.
Next progression milestone: Finish rescuing the professor and talking at the lab to let the Falcon dive.
