From the underwater sword to the Sinistral showdown

Soshette and underwater Doom Island: Take the Dual Blade

Even with diving unlocked, you cannot enter the temple from just anywhere at sea. Use the whirlpool near Soshette as the entrance.

Towns and dungeons to check: Soshette / Doom Island underwater cave / Daos's Temple, underwater

  1. Travel north-northeast from Laboratory No. 3 to the ring-shaped island. Resupply in Soshette on the north side, then sail into the nearby whirlpool to dive.
  2. Enter Doom Island's underwater cave. All 3 entrances connect to the center, so distinguish the main passage from a circuit searching every chest.
  3. Advance toward the center while checking where currents carry you. Collect the Dual Blade in the temple laid out like the prologue's.
  4. Watch the Sinistrals' appearance and the return-to-Soshette event through to the end. Do not try to start the normal final battle here; proceed to the ship's flight upgrade.
  • This article does not cover every chest coordinate across all 3 entrances. Passing through the progression route does not count as complete collection.

Next progression milestone: Finish returning to Soshette and look for a way to pursue the risen Doom Island.

Epro, Oil Cave, and Frederia: Make the ship fly

After obtaining the Oil Key, use an underwater route to bypass the overland obstruction. Deliver the item to Laboratory No. 4 in Frederia.

Towns and dungeons to check: Shaia Laboratory No. 3 / Epro / Underwater cave north of Epro / Oil Cave / Frederia

  1. Hear about the next upgrade at Laboratory No. 3 and visit Epro north of Mars. Check the item shop's out-of-stock information.
  2. Talk to Hedge outside town to the north and get the Oil Key. Finish the key dialogue before diving at the northern whirlpool.
  3. Pass through the underwater cave north of Epro, surface, and head to Oil Cave. Do not keep trying to force the blocked overland route.
  4. Use the Oil Key to go deeper and defeat Oil Dragon. Collect Power Oil before leaving.
  5. Bring it to Shaia Laboratory No. 4 in Frederia to advance the upgrade. Confirm that pressing A aboard the ship switches to flight.

Oil Dragon: Handle reflection and fire

  1. Assign recovery after party-wide fire. If you have the Wind Flute, consider it for group healing.
  2. Use a Dragon Ring on a physical attacker if possible. Avoid attack magic against an opponent under Miral and recover with physical attacks as your core offense.

Next progression milestone: Unlock Falcon flight to reach Albus.

Albus and Glasdar Tower: Check the key and final switches

Air currents block attempts to fly directly into the tower. Get the key in the northern cave and enter the tower through the southwestern cave.

Towns and dungeons to check: Albus / Cave north of Glasdar Tower / Cave southwest of Glasdar Tower / Glasdar Tower

  1. Prepare equipment and HP/MP recovery in Albus. Enter the cave north of Glasdar Tower and use the lever to change warp destinations.
  2. After obtaining the Glasdar Key on B3, go to the cave southwest of the tower. Unlock the door and advance to the tower.
  3. Use healing points in the cave and on tower 5F, then climb to 6F. Set left OFF, center ON, right OFF to reach the top floor.
  4. Save a record before facing Nazuby. Check any training you want to finish while Lufia is present and prepare a backup weapon for the protagonist.
  5. Defeat Nazuby and finish the companion/Dual Blade events. Rather than asserting that towns become inaccessible, first check your party and weapon panels.

Puzzle checks

  • On 6F, match the final states of 3 switches, not the timing order of presses. Only the center should be ON for the mandatory route.
  • Sources disagree on destinations for every chest branch, so an unverified all-8-pattern table is omitted. Warps are one-way; do not assume the same gate returns you to the original floor.

Nazuby: Instant-death magic and postfight party changes

  1. Maintain Miral against De Vile and watch for situations requiring removal or renewal. Do not assume physical attacks are also nullified.
  2. Finish healing, saving, and preparing a backup weapon before combat. Afterward, move with fewer members and changed equipment; do not depart using the old role division unchanged.

Collect and record before proceeding

  • After Nazuby, Lufia temporarily leaves and the protagonist loses the sword. Prepare a backup weapon beforehand and equip it after the event. This does not mean you can never return anywhere in the world.

Next progression milestone: Check the post-Nazuby party, equip the protagonist with a replacement weapon, and head to the final Doom Island.

Final Doom Island: From three-person consecutive battles to Guard Daos

While Lufia is absent, progress with the protagonist, Aguro, and Jerin. At the deepest point, check the sword's return separately from Lufia rejoining.

Towns and dungeons to check: Temple / Daos's Temple

Check before entering

  • Restore HP/MP at the entrance and confirm the protagonist and Jerin can handle healing/support.
  1. Equip the protagonist's backup weapon and fly to the moved Doom Island. Heal and save at the entrance shrine.
  2. Advance through Daos's Temple and confirm the Dual Blade returns at the deepest point. Fight Gades, Amon, and Daos with the three-person party.
  3. Use healing opportunities after Gades and Amon instead of rushing into the next battle exhausted.
  4. Lufia returns before Guard Daos. Check the four-person party and healing assignments before the final fight.
  5. Finish the post-victory conversations and ending. Do not treat the levels in an individual's clear record as everyone's minimum requirements.

Gades: Restore companions after physical hits

  1. Use Aguro as the main attacker while the protagonist heals allies hit by powerful single-target attacks.
  2. Use the post-victory healing opportunity before proceeding to Amon.

Amon and Daos: Divide reflection upkeep and healing

  1. Have Jerin refresh Miral on allies, the protagonist heal, and Aguro attack.
  2. Do not assume reflection alone makes you safe; watch remaining HP and switch to healing. Distinguish reflectable magic from physical attacks.

Guard Daos: Assign the returning Lufia to healing

  1. Use the protagonist and Aguro for offense, Lufia for healing, and Jerin for reflection upkeep as the basic roles. Change assignments according to hits and status.
  2. Miral also helps against Despair Cry. It does not stop normal physical attacks.

Next progression milestone: Defeat Guard Daos and watch the ending.
