A magical roguelite where every pixel is physically simulated. Since frustration usually comes from not knowing how to read a wand, this overview aims to resolve that quickly.

What is Noita?
A magical roguelite set in a world where every pixel on screen is physically simulated. Liquids flow, fire spreads through wood, and explosions carve away the terrain itself—and your own magic follows the same rules. Its defining feature is exceptionally free wand construction: arranging spells differently can create a piercing beam or a self-destructive explosion. Death resets everything, but takes your equipment rather than your knowledge. Since its October 2020 release, dedicated fans have supported it by exploring its deep wand system. The source records over 88,000 Steam reviews and an Overwhelmingly Positive rating. Japanese is supported.
🪄 What Kind of Game?
Every-pixel physics meets magical roguelite
Liquids flow, fire spreads through wood, and explosions carve away terrain. Combine spells to build your own wands.
💀 Most Deaths
Your own magic is killing you
Explosions, poison, and fire affect you too. Start by learning to fire without harming yourself.
🔑 One Thing to Understand
Whether a wand shuffles
A non-shuffle wand reads from left to right. Understanding this makes combinations reliable.

Shuffle The most important property
A Yes wand fires its spells in random order. A No, or non-shuffle, wand reads from left to right. Seek a non-shuffle wand for reliable combinations. Without understanding this, results remain unpredictable regardless of what you add.
Spells/Cast How many are read together
How many spells are read together from the left with one shot. At 2 or above, you can attach a modifier to an attack spell when firing. At 1, the modifier does not apply.
Cast Delay Interval between casts
The wait between shots. Shorter delays allow more attacks. Spells can increase or reduce it, so combinations change it substantially.
Recharge Time After the sequence finishes
The reload time after all the wand's spells are used. If longer than cast delay, you cannot fire until recharge finishes. This is usually why a powerful wand cannot keep firing.
Mana and consumption Why firing stops
Each spell costs mana, and each wand has its own maximum mana and regeneration speed. Excessive firepower can exhaust mana and prevent firing, so balance cost against capacity and regeneration.
Dying to your own magic
Explosions, poison, and fire affect the player equally. Firing explosives nearby or creating fire in a narrow passage accounts for most early deaths. First learn to fire without hitting yourself.
Underestimating liquids
Lava and poison flow and spread, while oil ignites. Breaking terrain can release liquid from above. Pausing to consider what your next shot might release can change your chances of survival.
Switching wands without inspecting them
Check shuffle, spells per cast, and recharge before using a found wand. A predictable wand helps you survive early on more than powerful spells do.
Rushing downward
Enemies grow stronger as you descend. Exploring the current layer to improve wands and spells before descending ultimately takes you farther.
