MOTHER 2: Giygas Strikes Back(Super Famicom)
Goods, recovery and repairs
Search IQ requirements for 13 repairs, HP/PP supplies, revival items and progression goods. Organized to show who should carry them, when to use them, and collection deadlines.
Scope: Japanese SFC version (released August 27, 1994) / excludes changes specific to the English EarthBound and GBA MOTHER 1+2 / Content checked: October 2, 2026
Consider the carrier and place of use separately
Some event items work simply by being carried, while others must be used in front of someone. Many attack tools are exclusive to Jeff, so giving them to another character does not make them usable.
Back to contents ↑13 broken goods: IQ and finished items
Jeff himself must carry the broken item and meet its IQ requirement, then stay at home or a hotel. Meeting these conditions does not guarantee a repair in that single night.
| Finished item | Required IQ | Item before repair | Where to obtain it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anti-PSI Machine | 1 or higher | Broken Machine | Apple Kid's room |
| Defense Spray | 1 or higher | Broken Spray | Jeff's starting inventory / Twoson |
| Sticky Machine | 10 or higher | Broken Iron | Low-Budget Dungeon / Twoson |
| Super Air Gun | 12 or higher | Broken Air Gun | Dormitory locker |

| Worst Beam | 55 or higher | Broken Harmonica | Stonehenge Base |
| Gaia Beam | 65 or higher | Broken Parabola | Dropped by Creepy Ball |
- Stockpiling many copies of the same item crowds the inventory. Give the item you currently need to Jeff before resting.
- The Broken Parabola requires 65 IQ. Repairing it produces the Gaia Beam with 125 Offense.
