Invokyr Early-Game Guide: From Statue Collection to the Next Roll

Available in Early Access: early-game guide · Updated 2026-10-10

Running deeper without an exploration goal can leave you unsure what to bring back or how to return. First check this round's objective. If statues are required, treat collecting enough and delivering them to the board as one task.

Check the objective after rolling the movement die

The board's movement die advances the shared piece. It serves a different role from special dice found and used in the mansion.

After the piece moves, read the objective guidance near the board. Determine whether this round involves statue hunting or responding to a hazard before moving.

  1. Wait near the board until the piece moves and the objective appears.
  2. If statue collection is required, read the count above the board.
  3. In cooperative play, briefly share the objective and required count before exploring.
  4. For survival/hazard rounds, follow the current guidance rather than applying statue-collection steps unchanged.

Objective text itself and late-game puzzle answers are not reproduced here.

Find statues, then bring them back to the board

Collect required statues from the mansion and deliver them to the board to advance. Distinguish those you are holding from those already delivered.

Statues have effects while held. Check the description and changes to controls after picking one up instead of inferring its effect from appearance alone. Putting it down stops that held effect; picking it back up restores it. If transport becomes difficult, put it down briefly and reassess.

  1. After picking up a statue, check its display and changes to vision or controls.
  2. If carrying is difficult, assess nearby danger and put it down briefly or discuss transport with a teammate.
  3. Follow the route back and bring it to the board.
  4. After delivery, check the required-count display and next movement die.

Putting down a statue removes its held effect. Do not assume it also reverses injuries already suffered.

Establish the way back before going deeper

The mansion's layout changes as the board progresses. Recheck the direction back to the board from your current room instead of relying only on a route learned in the previous round.

On your first attempt, learning a round trip that delivers one statue makes progression clearer than taking many detours. In cooperation, share the turns needed to return as well as where you found it.

When progression stops, check requirements in order

Confusing statue collection with hazard response, or treating held statues as delivered, can obscure the next action. Return to the board display and identify the issue before wandering into more rooms.

Choose shop purchases based on the previous failure

The shop uses earned score for upgrades, tools and furniture. First identify what you lacked on the previous board instead of deciding by price alone.

Choose one problem: difficult movement, getting lost or being defeated before using a tool. Compare descriptions relevant to it. Do not assume all furniture and tools are permanent upgrades; check what the purchase applies to.

Check individual prices, upgrade counts and duration/scope on the current screen. This page has no fixed price table.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q1 Should I collect 3 statues every time? ▼
A

This guide does not give a fixed count of 3. When statues are required, read the count displayed above the board.

Q2 Controls became difficult after picking up a statue. Is it a bug? ▼
A

It may be the statue's held effect. First put it down, see whether the change stops and compare with the description. If it persists, distinguish another objective, curse or bug.

Q3 Are exploration dice the same as the board die? ▼
A

Their roles differ. The board's movement die advances the piece and objectives; special dice found in the mansion are single-use tools for exploration and survival.
