This bilingual guide uses the official Update 8 and version 1.0 notes for the same selected scope: six build directions, eight encounters and five preparation groups. Region, equipment and settings matter. Difficulty letters are editorial comparisons, not official ranks or a gameplay-tested complete final-boss walkthrough.

Enshrouded

⚒️ Resources and Crafting

Five editorial preparation groups covering gathering, processing, survivors and equipment upgrades. These are not official Tier 1–5 material categories and do not claim every recipe.

👥 Survivor Work and Recipe Progression

Rescue the relevant survivors and follow their station quests. Establish the Blacksmith early, then choose the next survivor work according to the item or facility you need.

Five Preparation Groups

T1
Basic gathering and first base

Gather wood, stone, twigs and plant fiber for tools and the first base. Read the intended recipes before choosing quantities. This is an editorial preparation stage, not an official fixed Tier 1.

T2
Metalworking and fuel

Progress the Blacksmith’s work and station quests, then process fuel and ore. Copper Bars involve the Smelter rather than ore alone. Check the current station recipes before gathering.

T3
Cloth, leather and production

Check Huntress-related equipment materials and production stations. Linen, Leather and Padding are distinct resources: work backward from the intended equipment recipe to the required processing steps.

T4
Building and storage components

Develop the Carpenter’s stations and building and storage recipes. Separate the production of components from storing materials in magic chests. Leave clear routes between stations and storage.

💡 Gathering More Efficiently
→
Check the next Flame requirements

Use the next strengthening recipe and current Shroud timer to choose a reachable objective. Check the destination’s hazards and requirements, then choose a gathering trip you can return from.

→
Use a combat style that suits the route

Ranged attacks can reduce pressure from some enemies, but remain aware of terrain, ammunition and stamina. Take an escape route rather than assuming any one build makes gathering safe.

→
Stock materials according to the recipes

Keep wood, stone and plant materials available for construction and consumables. The required quantities depend on your plans; a stock of 400 of every material is not a universal progression condition.

→
Repeat encounters only for a confirmed requirement

If the recipe calls for a boss head or another encounter item, confirm the target and route before repeating it. Higher crafting stages do not universally require loot from an editorial A-rank boss.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. How can I gather Shroud resources efficiently?
Choose one recipe or quest objective, clear inventory space and bring food, recovery supplies and suitable equipment. Check the current Shroud timer before committing to a route. Use ranged attacks when they suit the encounter, but keep an exit and do not assume a Ranger build removes all risk.
Q2. Which survivors should I rescue first?
Follow the survivor quests and establish the craftspeople needed for your next recipes. The Blacksmith supports melee gear and metalworking; the Farmer supports food production; the Carpenter supports building and storage; and the Alchemist handles magic equipment. Huntress work is also relevant to ranged gear. Check the craftsperson and workstation shown by the next recipe.
Q3. Where do I get later crafting materials?
Work backward from the current item or station recipe. Look up its acquisition hint, required survivor and processing steps, then choose the corresponding region or encounter. The five groups below are editorial preparation stages. Choose the steps required by your target recipe.
Q4. When should I upgrade equipment?
Upgrade equipment you intend to keep when its benefits justify the rune cost. In the Update 8 system, the Blacksmith handles warrior equipment, the Huntress handles ranger equipment and the Alchemist handles mage equipment. Check the effects shown on the equipment and the upgrade options available for that item.
