What is Dyson Sphere Program?
What to inspect and do next when a PC factory stops. Separate mecha fuel, power grids, connections, research, and logistics, then choose the detailed guide that matches your problem.
Edition: PC Steam base game, app 1366540, normal progression without mods. Dark Fog, enemy settings, and resource multipliers are addressed separately. Sandbox, research shortcuts using Metadata, and complete endgame optimization are outside the standard steps.
Verification scope: Public sources checked on 2026-10-04. The most recent official release announcement found during that check was V0.10.35.29088, dated 2026-09-24. Game launch, installed build, and behavior across all saves were not tested.

Edition and settings to match first
Dyson Sphere Program is an automation game about mining, processing, and transporting resources on spherical planets, then extending factories into space. These guides focus on the starting planet through working interplanetary logistics. First match your save's conditions to the guide.

| Item | Guide baseline | What to check on your screen |
|---|---|---|
| Base game | Normal PC Steam base game, still in Early Access | Check the title-screen version. Do not apply old guide values or modded values unchanged |
| Japanese | The official April 18, 2026 update added Japanese UI, subtitles, and audio | Distinguish official Japanese from older translation mods. English names are included to help comparisons |
| Dark Fog | Dark Fog and enemy aggression can be enabled, disabled, or configured at the start | Saves with enemies also need factory, power, and logistics defenses. Enemy-free instructions alone cannot establish safety |
| Resources and star map | Resource multipliers and the seed change expansion conditions | Check remaining veins, required resources, and planetary wind and solar conditions. Do not assign depletion to a fixed playtime |
| Research scope | Official announcements through V0.10.35.29088 checked against guide sources | Prioritize actual recipe and research-cost displays. Complete enemy coverage, every Dyson sphere design, and future vehicles or space stations are outside scope |

Choose the first display to inspect from your symptom
Do not treat every stopped factory as the same problem: check how far materials travel. You do not need to read the table from top to bottom. Start with the row closest to your symptoms.
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Problem | Current state | First check | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Only the mecha is slow | The factory runs, but movement and manual work are slow | Core energy at the bottom of the screen and the mecha panel's fuel chamber | Early-game guide: fuel and factory power |
| No ore output | A Mining Machine is placed, but its belt is empty | Covered veins, power, internal miner inventory, and output direction | Early-game guide: a minimal line |
| Materials do not enter a building | Materials are present on its belt | Sorter source, destination, distance, power, and selected recipe | Early-game guide: connection checks |
| Facilities across an area are slow | Multiple inputs are running short | Open a Tesla Tower in that area and check power satisfaction | Early-game guide: restart checks |
| Research does not progress | Research items exist somewhere | Selected research, lab mode, and where required items must enter | Progression guide: research-screen checks |
| Research is complete, but a building cannot be crafted | Technology is unlocked, but building items are missing | Required intermediate materials and their research | Progression guide: answers |
| Cargo does not reach another location | A station has stock | Matching item selections and Local/Remote Supply and Demand settings | Logistics guide: shutdown checklist |
| Vessels move, but materials do not enter the factory | Only the receiving station's inventory increases | Output-belt direction and item filter | Logistics guide: the first shipment |

Inspect mecha, factory, and transport energy separately
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Target | Where energy is supplied | Common confusion |
|---|---|---|
| Icarus | Put fuel into the mecha panel's fuel chamber | Carrying fuel in inventory does not refill the fuel chamber |
| Mining and production equipment | The grid supplied by generators through power transmission equipment | A full mecha battery does not fix a factory outage. Moving belts do not guarantee powered Sorters |
| Logistics Drones and Logistics Vessels | Stored power in the station to which the departing craft belongs | This differs from putting ordinary fuel into a vessel. Space Warpers are warp consumables, not a substitute for station charging |

If everything slows only after adding logistics stations, inspect charging demand too. Before adding generators, confirm that they actually connect to the same grid.
Confirm recovery at one location before a major rebuild
These are small diagnostic examples, not optimal production ratios or settings to apply to every building.
- Choose one stopped machine. First note whether its input is empty, its output is full, or power is insufficient
- For missing inputs, move one belt upstream; for full outputs, inspect the next facility downstream. Fix the point where material flow breaks
- After the change, confirm material consumption and product increases at that machine, then follow cargo onto the output belt
- Only expand the diagnosis to shared grids or belts if multiple facilities have the same symptom
- With Dark Fog enabled, check destroyed buildings and broken power links too. Recheck operation and defense before traveling away
Researched, built, producing, and transporting are separate states. Confirm each transition before expanding to keep the cause of problems visible.
Test a short section before extending across spherical terrain
Latitude changes grids and gaps between facilities. Before duplicating a long line, verify a small section where buildings, belts, Sorters, and power transmission all fit together.
- Keep initial production lines short on clear land. Allow room for exits and power poles as well as proximity to veins
- Watch for grid transitions along belt extensions. If placement fails, shift buildings by a row and recheck Sorter reach
- Separate fine miner rotation to cover veins from aligned placement of production buildings
- Do not confuse awkward spherical placement with insufficient power. Verify operation separately after construction
The same design is not guaranteed to fit at every latitude. Large-scale Dyson sphere optimization is outside this initial connection guide.
