First decide which section needs transport
The same item needs different equipment for belts, planetary Logistics Drones, and interplanetary Logistics Vessels. Supply offers items to that network; Demand receives them from it.
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Transport section | Equipment and craft | How to read the settings |
|---|---|---|
| Immediately beside a building | Belts and Sorters | Sorters run from source to destination. Station inputs and outputs connect directly to belts |
| Between stations on the same planet | PLS or ILS with Logistics Drones | Local Supply to Local Demand. PLS is for planetary transport |
| Between stations on different planets | ILS at both ends, with Logistics Vessels | Remote Supply to Remote Demand. Another planet in the same star system is also Remote |
| Supplying storage or Icarus | Logistics Distributor and Logistics Bots | Separate from drones and vessels. This is not a setting for direct delivery from Distributors to stations |

This guide focuses on normal station logistics. Research and crafting requirements are in answer 01; long-distance transport requirements are in answer 02. PLS means Planetary Logistics Station; ILS means Interstellar Logistics Station.
Example: receive one item from another planet
Try this with ILS stations on both planets and Logistics Vessels available. Start with one item entering and leaving by belt to keep planetary drone delivery out of the test. Equipment unlocks are in the closed answers.
- Select the item in a free slot at the supplying ILS. Select exactly the same item at the receiving station; do not confuse raw ore and ingots
- Set the supplier to Remote Supply and receiver to Remote Demand. For this test, set Local to Storage at both ends to isolate transactions with other stations on each planet
- Connect a belt directly to the supplying station and confirm its internal inventory for that item rises
- Deploy Logistics Vessels at the station that will launch them, connect it to the power grid, and charge it. Put vessels in the deployment area, not an item storage slot
- Check vessel transport range, minimum load, and warp requirements. Temporarily lower minimum load for a small test, recording its previous value
- Watch the in-transit display and deployed craft activity, then confirm increasing actual inventory at the receiver
- Draw an output belt from the receiver and select the item's filter at that exit. Use a Sorter from the belt into production equipment
- The test succeeds when the receiving factory consumes the item. Then expand into Local delivery as needed and readjust minimum loads to operating volumes
Storage disables Supply and Demand for that network, while belt inputs and outputs remain possible. Local Storage with Remote Demand is valid; do not assume that one item cannot use different modes across the two networks.
Local and Remote have separate roles for each item
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Situation | Local example | Remote example | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Receive from another planet and output to a nearby belt | Storage | Demand | Vessels deliver; an output belt with the selected item filter removes cargo |
| Receive from another planet and distribute locally by drone | Supply | Demand | Arrivals by vessel supply Demand stations on the same planet |
| Drones collect locally for export to another planet | Demand | Supply | Collect from planetary suppliers and export to off-world Demand |
| Feed products by belt for export to another planet | Storage | Supply | Export belt-fed inventory without planetary transactions |
| Transport only on the same planet without off-world transactions | Supply or Demand | Storage | Drones operate when Local conditions are met; Remote does not participate |

These are setting examples for different uses. Transport still requires supplier inventory, receiving demand capacity, craft, stored energy, and distance conditions. Settings do not create resources.
Do not confuse vessel fuel with station charge
There is no operation to load Coal or fuel rods into Logistics Vessels. They use their home station's stored energy to launch. Warp trips also consume Warpers, so inspect transport energy separately from additional consumables.
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Check | Required location | Recovery action | Caution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Generation and transmission | The grid connected to the craft's home station | Connect the grid and check fuel and generation capacity | Power at the receiving factory is separate from charging at the launching station |
| Station charge | The side launching vessels or drones | Wait for charging; inspect maximum charging power and grid satisfaction | New connections create substantial charging demand. Do not raise only the limit and starve the entire factory of power |
| Acceptance at the other station | The corresponding Supply or Demand station | Establish the required inventory and item settings | Transport can use craft and charge at one end only. Vessels and power are not mandatory at both stations |
| Consumables for warp trips | The departing vessel's home ILS | Provide a route supplying Warpers to its dedicated slot | Prepare 2 Warpers for a round trip. The station does not share the mecha's Warper slot |

An unpowered station can exchange cargo with the other station's craft, but that does not power nearby miners, Sorters, or factories. Initially establish both factory grids and use one-sided unpowered designs only after understanding the mechanism.
Shutdown checks when cargo does not arrive
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Symptom | Supply and Demand checks | Required settings or items | Action | Transport confirmation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Supplier inventory does not increase | Selected item and input at the supplier | A belt carrying that same item | Select the item and connect the input directly. Distinguish raw materials from processed products | Actual supplier inventory rises |
| Inventory exists, but no craft arrive | Networks and modes at both ends | Supply and Demand matched within Local or within Remote | For interplanetary trips, inspect Remote. Correct both ends set to Supply, both to Demand, or either left at Storage | An in-transit indication or departing craft |
| Only drones are available | Transport section and deployment area | Interplanetary transport needs vessels and ILS at both ends | Check that craft in item inventory have not been mistaken for deployed craft | The active count of the appropriate craft changes |
| Craft are deployed but do not leave | Home-station charge and its power grid | Enough stored energy to launch | Restore generation and charging; adding fuel to the mecha alone is insufficient | Departure after charge recovers |
| Only low-volume items stop | Minimum load and current transport capacity | Minimum cargo relative to current capacity | Lower minimum load only to test, then balance it against operating transport volumes | The waiting item's transport starts |
| The receiver looks empty but places no order | Actual inventory, planned in-transit quantities, and storage limit | Remaining receiving demand | Check whether cargo is already in transit. Reconsider an excessively low item limit | Actual inventory after arrival and new orders |
| Nearby planets work, but distant destinations do not | Vessel maximum distance, warp distance, and requirement settings | Distance and warp conditions | Check answer 02. Do not disable the Warper requirement while the cause is unknown | Transport follows the intended route and speed |
| Only receiving inventory increases | Receiver output and factory input | Output-belt item filter and Sorters | Choose the output item and trace inputs through to production | Arriving items are consumed by the factory |
| Only some suppliers operate | Other suppliers, demand volume, and priority settings | Actual unmet demand | Check whether another supplier satisfies demand; inspect priority routes if needed | Idling is normal if sufficient supply already arrives |

Minimum load is not a maximum specifying exactly how many items to carry. When research increases capacity, the same percentage can require more stock before departure. Storage limits and other exceptions also matter, so do not treat the percentage as an absolute rule.

Prerequisites for researching and crafting logistics equipment
These are representative equipment differences. Material entries identify required item types, not every intermediate crafting step. Fixed total research costs and complete unlock trees are not included.
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Logistics equipment | Research and construction prerequisites | Transport method | Power and fuel | Version and distance differences |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Planetary Logistics Station | Planetary Logistics System. The building needs Steel, Titanium Ingots, Processors, and Particle Containers | Deploy Logistics Drones | Stored energy in the home station. Do not load ordinary fuel into drones | Same-planet use. A PLS on another planet cannot receive vessel deliveries |
| Interstellar Logistics Station | Interstellar Logistics System. Craft using PLS plus Titanium Alloy and Particle Containers | Drones for Local; Logistics Vessels for Remote | Home-station charge; Warpers are additionally needed for warp | Also serves different planets in one star system, not just different stars |
| Deploying Logistics Vessels | Unlocked by Interstellar Logistics System. Produce Titanium Alloy, Processors, and Reinforced Thrusters | Put completed vessels in the ILS deployment area | Normal sailing uses station charge; warp has additional requirements | Research alone does not automatically deploy vessels |
| Orbital Collector | Gas Giants Exploitation. Construction needs items including ILS and fully charged Accumulators | Vessels from an off-world ILS come to collect resources | Self-generates power from part of its collected resources. Vessels and required Warpers belong to the collecting ILS | Place on the equator of gas or ice giants. This differs from surface-vein mining with Mining Machines |

The progression answers explain initial Titanium collection through station research. Orbital Collector output varies with planet, research, and self-consumption, so no universal per-second rate is listed.

Align warp research, Warpers, and distance settings
Building an ILS alone does not unlock vessel warp. The mecha being able to warp does not prove that vessel requirements are met.
- Check completed Logistics Carrier Engine Lv4 upgrades. Earlier Lv3 and Drive Engine Lv4 are prerequisites, but mecha research alone does not complete vessel research
- Supply Space Warpers to the dedicated slot in the vessel's home ILS. Choose between requesting and storing them in an item slot, belt delivery, and manual insertion
- Check that Transport Range of Vessels includes the destination, then inspect Distance to Enable Warp
- For routes beyond the warp distance, provide 2 Warpers for the round trip. If Must Equip Warpers is enabled, long-distance departure stops when warp is unavailable
- Even within one system, planetary distances and settings may exceed the warp threshold. If vessels stop, review distance settings instead of assuming Warper conditions cannot matter within one system
- Disabling the Warper requirement can send vessels on extremely long normal flights without warp. Do not disable it unconditionally as a diagnostic step
- After startup, inspect Warper supply and prevent depletion like any other input. If vessels launch from both ends, check both home ILS conditions
Maximum range and similar settings apply to craft belonging to that station. One station's range limit may not prevent the other station's craft from arriving. Fixed flight times, transport per vessel count, and Warper production ratios are unverified and are not listed.
After the first successful shipment, keep watching stocks and output
After the first arrival succeeds, check that supplier production and receiver consumption continue. Constant vessel movement is not the only sign of healthy operation.
- If supplier inventory stays empty, return to production or mining. If the receiver is full, inspect output and consumption
- Reconsider an excessively low minimum load. More small shipments increase energy and Warper consumption
- Even when using priority routes or station groups, establish basic Supply/Demand conditions first. The covered version includes priority settings added in 2024
- With Dark Fog, defend stations themselves. Destruction also loses their assigned craft, so keeping craft out of danger alone is insufficient
This guide covers establishing transport and diagnosing shutdowns. All priority-rule combinations, optimal cluster-wide vessel allocation, and maximum throughput after infinite research are outside scope.
Frequently asked questions
Do Logistics Vessels need Coal or fuel rods?
Normal transport uses home-station charge. Warp trips also need Warpers. Keep these supplies separate from the mecha fuel chamber.
Do both stations need vessels and power?
Craft and charge at one end can handle the round trip. That does not power factories or miners at the other end. Inspect the launching side separately from cargo production and consumption.
Is another planet in the same star system Local?
Different planets use Remote. Local handles stations on the same planet. Check the column where Supply and Demand are configured.
Why do delivered items not appear on the belt?
Check the item filter on the belt leaving the ILS. Also inspect belt direction, Sorters feeding downstream equipment, and full output destinations.
Research should be complete, but long-distance trips do not run
Check research targets, deployed craft, charge, distance, and consumables separately. Specific unlock names and steps are in answer 02 on this page.
