First, learn which column you want to score
The normal board has 6 columns corresponding to faces 1-6. Dice faces determine which columns' units score. Check not just unit STR but also the activation requirements of the artifact above each column.
Budge raises or lowers a face by 1; Chrono rerolls dice or refreshes the shop. They are different tools: distinguish a condition one adjustment can complete from a situation where you want to change the roll as a whole.
- Check which column you want to score and which effect you want to activate there.
- Check whether the current faces meet the condition or a single Budge adjustment can complete it.
- After scoring, check the target attack value, cumulative attack and turns remaining to decide your next purchases and dice manipulation.
Choose an article by your current problem
Board reading, dice adjustments and growth systems are explained separately. If you get stuck midway, use this table to find the relevant topic.
| Problem | Article | What it explains |
|---|---|---|
| You do not know your goal | Basic rules | Checking target attack and turns remaining; shop decisions |
| You are unsure when to use Budge or Chrono | Dice and combos | A single adjustment versus a reroll, with a pair-building example |
| The same purchases produce different results with another commander | Choosing a commander | Different actions that generate XP or extra dice |
| An artifact does nothing after purchase | Basic rules / Dice and combos | Checking target column, dice types and activation timing |
Keep ordinary play separate from special challenge conditions
Commander abilities and challenge conditions change the dice and growth methods you use. Do not apply decisions from the standard board unchanged to a different challenge. Start by checking your selected commander, Perks and challenge conditions.
Chapter 6 has received post-launch adjustments. Update 1.0b distinguishes target changes for Chapter 6 from Ultimate Earth's conditions. Do not treat their difficulty or required attack as identical.
This guide covers basic decisions. Complete Chapter 6 boss solutions, every challenge-mode condition and patch timing on each platform are outside scope.
