Brain Lord (Super Famicom)

Bosses and the final keys

Check required spells and preparations against each boss's progression requirements. Where HP and required hit counts have not been cross-checked, this guide does not give fixed values.

Scope: Japanese Super Famicom version (released January 29, 1994) / Content checked: October 2, 2026

Tower of Light: Giant Insect

The first boss, fought to obtain the Dragon Scale.

  1. Save at the statue and check your shield and healing food. Ready your sword or Magic Shot and begin attacking from a safe position on screen.
  2. When smaller enemies appear alongside the main body, clear the surrounding enemies before they surround you. Do not keep closing on the main body and taking repeated contact damage.
  3. After defeating it, take the Dragon Scale and return to the blacksmith in Arcs. Break the next rocks with the Battle Axe.

Ancient Ruins: Grand Slam

Attack when its eye opens and avoid the incoming projectiles.

  1. Use the Experiment Room Key to reach the boss room. Check shield durability and food, and prepare a weapon such as a bow that lets you keep your distance.
  2. Land attacks when the enemy's eye opens. While it is closed, use the time to dodge incoming projectiles instead of continually chasing it.
  3. When pulled toward it, do not remain in front of the projectiles or main body. Give the Silver Tablet obtained after the fight to Toronto's library.

Ice Castle: Phantom

Obtain Stop first instead of persisting with ordinary attacks alone.

  1. Meet Rein and Barness inside the castle to receive Stop. Check that you can select it with L/R, then save at the statue.
  2. Charge Stop and hit the enemy, then attack with your weapon while it is frozen. After moving to regain your distance, use Stop again.
  3. Before finishing the castle after the fight, check that you have collected the Heavy Maul, Plate Armor, Shield of Long Conflict and other items.

Doruga: speaking with the Fire Drake

What you need here is a conversation, not a victory. Do not spend combat consumables trying to defeat it.

  1. Open the entrance with the Sapphire, then collect the Earth Dragon, Sky Dragon, Water Dragon and Death Dragon Keys to reach B2.
  2. Speak to the Fire Drake to receive POWER +5 and GUARD +10. Check the next door and remaining chests.

Platinum: final battle against the Demon King

Make footholds with Feather and open the final door before taking it on.

  1. Save before the final door on 4F, then check your food, Revival Mirrors and shield durability. If you used the Cloak to move, change back into armor.
  2. Use the Thunder Bow at a distance and switch to an iron-ball weapon or axe when you can get close. Slow is another support option when the enemy moves around.
  3. Move to avoid being forced toward the floor's edge. Falling means starting over on the damage you have dealt, so do not rush to the edge for the final hit.
  4. When the attack target changes, recheck which part your weapon can reach. HP for each form and the extent of magic immunity have not been fully verified, so no fixed number of attacks is given.
