First correction: enemies move in real time

Tiny Rogues is an action roguelite about attacking while dodging enemy bullets. Enemies do not stop when you do. This is not a game where moving one tile advances one turn, so keep watching nearby bullets and escape routes while deciding your next action. The old articles' turn-based explanation and fixed per-Wave purchasing sequences resembling another game have been corrected. The order here describes decisions during a run, rather than fixed room layouts.

At the start: check controls and spare dodging capacity

  1. Check movement, aiming, attack, and dash in the control settings. Match configured inputs to the on-screen behavior.
  2. In early fights, leave passable space rather than chasing enemies. Hugging walls continuously reduces your dodging directions.
  3. Check remaining stamina before repeatedly dashing. Use normal movement for bullets avoidable with a small adjustment, saving an escape option for being surrounded.
  4. Read the weapon description during a safe moment and decide whether melee, ranged, or magic will be your main approach.

Mid-run: align the main weapon and Trait conditions

For level-up Traits, check whether their targets and triggers match your main attack. Distinguish melee, ranged, and magic categories, and whether an effect triggers on hitting or killing an enemy. Increasing a stat will not deliver the expected damage if the weapon's scaling does not fit. If changing direction to suit a newly found weapon, also check whether existing Traits and equipment will be wasted.

  1. Before trying new equipment, learn your current weapon's range and attack interval.
  2. After changing, assess usability against single and multiple enemies separately.
  3. If damage is sufficient, improve escape routes and defenses. If both are lacking, prioritize an immediate benefit that gets you through the next room.

Before and during bosses: create a safe position before attacking

  1. Check health, equipment, and healing before entering. Do not postpone checking equipment changes until combat starts.
  2. For unfamiliar attacks, observe bullet direction and your destination. Avoid continually making large retreats; leave somewhere to dodge the next bullets.
  3. When the boss's appearance or attacks change, check whether the previously safe position still works.
  4. If continuing to attack causes hits, focus on dodging for a while and wait for the next opening.

After the run: check Mastery and World Objective

Distinguish permanent growth through Mastery from unlocking later content through World Objective progression. Completing runs alone is not treated as automatically unlocking every class or route. Cinder is the name associated with additional difficulty. The old Forge of Defiance guidance has been removed. Detailed conditions and multipliers vary with updates, so prioritize the settings in your current game.

  1. Classify the failure as dodging, single-target damage, handling groups, or resource shortage.
  2. Choose one area to improve on the next run.
  3. Check World Objective and class-selection requirements to choose the unlock to target this time.

Frequently asked questions

Will enemies stop if I wait?

No. Combat is real-time bullet-hell action, so standing still to think can get you hit.

Do I follow every floor in the same order each time?

Themes, enemies, and rewards vary. Early, middle, and pre-boss sections describe decision points rather than fixed room layouts.

Is the difficulty setting Forge of Defiance?

That old label was inaccurate and has been corrected. Check Cinder's additional difficulty separately from growth and unlocks through Mastery and World Objective.
