Eleven major normal encounters; open each strategy separately
A selectable guide for a first NORMAL run, focusing on early and middle encounters. It does not cover every boss, difficulty or projectile pattern. Distinguish first fights from rematches and normal versions from SPECIAL.
- Check HP, healing, amulet gauge and equipment before fighting.
- On the next attempt, try one response to one cue.
- When defense rises greatly, prioritize surviving the attack over forcing melee damage.
- After changing equipment, check that it is still applied on the retry.
Each boss section starts collapsed because it contains specific dodging instructions. Exact damage, invincibility duration and fixed remaining-HP triggers are not asserted.

First Cocoa answer: do not stay beneath the drone
The location is Starting Forest. This fight practices distinguishing bombs, projectiles and drones.
- In normal play with Piko Hammer, land brief ground attacks and move away.
- Do not jump recklessly toward drones; avoid projectiles approaching Erina first.
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Cue / visible object | Switching between dodging and attacking |
|---|---|
| Throws a bomb | Leave its landing point and return to melee after the explosion |
| A cat-shaped drone appears overhead | Do not wait directly below; create sideways distance and read trajectories diagonally |
| Large attack after a cut-in | Avoid contact with Cocoa and move where you can pass between lasers. Look back for the next drone |

This first fight assumes the normal route before acquiring the amulet.

First Ribbon answer: watch charging and the camera pulling back
The location is Spectral Cave. Rather than chasing an opponent high above, wait for shots and secure a landing place.
- When Ribbon begins charging, stop pursuing with melee for the moment.
- When the camera pulls back, expect firing and make small movements after reading the trajectory.
- The left ledge is a candidate foothold for avoiding normal and charged attacks, not a safe spot against every attack.
- For lasers from above the center, check the next line and dodge. Use the hammer when she descends after firing.
Special handling without the hammer is not used as the standard first-run strategy.

First Ashuri answer: wait for landings and leave laser warnings
The location is Rabi Rabi Beach. Continually swinging at the jumping opponent causes more misses.
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Cue | Action |
|---|---|
| An aiming marker appears on the ground | Move away and wait for the vertical laser column from above |
| Her staff glows yellow | Prepare for a horizontal beam instead of continuing ground attacks |
| Crosses while riding a broom | Avoid contact first. Watch the return trip and landing before approaching |
| Magic circle or maximized-defense indicator | Do not force damage; stay clear of laser paths and survive |
No matching entries in this table. Shorten the query or clear it to restore all entries.
Even small movements on landing can cause contact. Wait slightly outside the landing point rather than directly below.

Normal Rita answer: small movements for aimed shots, early response to snow below
The location is Azure Snow Land. Focus on avoiding the attack just fired rather than continually sweeping back and forth.
- After a shot aimed at Erina fires, move slightly sideways to avoid it.
- Stop attacking when Rita jumps and prepare for fast ice or a kick.
- When snow beneath you grows and its eruption position settles, leave that position.
- After the cut-in, distinguish overhead, aimed and crossing projectiles. During aimed shots, keep movements small to avoid being pushed to an edge.
Later Phantom and Boss Rush Rita encounters use different attacks. This section covers the first normal-story fight.

Normal Cicini fight answer: treat the defense system and Cicini herself as 2 separate phases
The location is deep in Spectral Cave. Do not spend every healing item in the first phase; prepare to fight Cicini herself.
- Use approaching Cicini for blue rotating beams and moving away for red as a guide, while checking the direction at the attack's start.
- If you miss your position during practice, escape with an available amulet and regain safe ground before the next attack.
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Phase / cue | Response |
|---|---|
| Defense-system panels | Attack the seated Cicini. Watch green and yellow aimed shots without chasing the whole panel |
| Green aimed shots | Favor horizontal movement and do not return into pursuing projectiles |
| Cicini jumps and lands | Watch for the next ray gun and prepare to jump |
| Large blue and red rotating beams | Check color and rotation first. For counterclockwise rotation, jumping on her right for blue and left for red provides dodge positions |

Left/right directions describe counterclockwise rotation. Running to the same screen edge based on color alone can be counterproductive depending on the starting position.

Normal Vanilla answer: watch spreading projectiles until they return
The location is Sky-High Bridge, translated differently in Japanese sources. Many attacks come from the air or while she is invisible, limiting opportunities if you rely only on ground hammer attacks.
- When she moves high up, use Ribbon's magic instead of forcing your way directly underneath.
- Avoid contact when a charge begins. With Sliding, distinguish occasions to pass low from those requiring a jump.
- Do not immediately resume attacking when projectiles spread outward after the cut-in.
- Leave through a narrowing gap before the shots return to the center. Keep amulet gauge for losing the escape route.
Sliding does not always grant invulnerability. Check whether lowering the hitbox actually clears the attack's height.

Normal Chocolate answer: watch projectiles beyond the dodged laser
The location is Rabi Rabi Ravine. Use the wide room and choose the landing point after a dodge too.
- Keep watching large bouncing projectiles even after they pass once.
- For sweeping laser attacks, remember the side occupied by Erina is targeted and leave escape space before firing.
- Watch the projectiles appearing after the laser passes and choose the next dodge direction.
- Stop melee when the following pattern grows dense. If using the amulet, continue moving toward a projectile-free side afterward.
Trying to hammer during lasers can delay dodging because attacks briefly stop movement. Use only safely available magic or focus entirely on avoidance.

Normal Pandora answer: watch staff poses and laser rules
The location is Pyramid. Rules seen in its passage mechanisms also help read the boss fight.
- Expect firing when she readies the staff, but do not identify the next attack from the pose alone.
- For incoming staffs, shift slightly and observe the first trajectory.
- For attacks whose hit detection disappears while jumping, remember the visual change checked along the route before trying to outrun them only on the ground.
- Check a safe position before approaching cut-in lasers. Do not force hammer attacks during high defense.
You need not chase every airborne phase. Attack when she descends and otherwise use the time to observe trajectories.

Normal Syaro answer: do not rely on melee damage alone
The location is System Interior. Some states nullify physical damage, so merely approaching with Erina and swinging the normal hammer will not reduce HP.
- Prepare around Ribbon's magic and combine other effective attacks such as Carrot Bomb.
- Missile behavior differs by color. Do not use identical jump timing for fast green missiles and pursuing blue ones.
- When she readies the cannon, stop attacking and prepare a jump or amulet.
- Even after getting behind, beware contact as recoil moves Syaro backward.
- For falling projectiles during a cut-in, watch landing positions and adjust your next waiting position.
The hammer is not entirely useless; it can help with staggering or combos. Initially, prioritize surviving while landing magic.

Ashuri rematch answer: dodge the crossing and remaining shots as one attack
The location is Golden Riverbank, with variant Japanese translations. Passing close as in the first fight makes surrounding star shots easier to hit.
- If gaining enough dodge height is difficult, advance the laboratory first and collect Air Jump.
- Do not resume attacking after avoiding only one charge. Watch remaining shots and the next crossing.
- Sliding low is an option against the final, higher charge.
- After landing, let her walk a little before attacking. Do not keep pushing her against the wall and hasten the next attack.
- Around the high-defense cut-in, switch from dealing damage to dodging.
Do not carry only the first fight's contact-avoidance hammer approach into the rematch. The accompanying star shots make it different.

Late Main Game answer: preparing for the first encounter
Miru opens the late sequence of fights. Ribbon is unavailable, requiring a change from a magic-focused approach.
- Before entering, check equipment for Erina's attacks and available healing.
- Use the hammer between attacks and learn the next safe positions during long patterns.
- Even with Super Carrot, do not use it where attacks overlap its charging period.
- Before spending many healing items, check what remains for subsequent fights.
- If continuing the sequence is too difficult, prepare again from a manual save that can return to town.
This section prepares for Miru. It does not explain every projectile pattern in Noah's following phases.
Frequently asked questions
Why do attacks differ from a boss-clear video?
Check difficulty, first fight versus rematch, SPECIAL and Boss Rush. The same name can cover different encounters; normal-story positioning may not transfer unchanged.
What if defense suddenly rises with a little HP left?
Some bosses greatly raise defense until a particular attack ends. Watch buffs and actions, survive the attack and resume attacking afterward. Not every opponent uses the same mechanism.
Does using the amulet count as losing?
Using the amulet is fine for normal completion, and this guide assumes it. Specific achievements and restricted challenges have separate requirements.
