Pacific Drive

🗺️ Walkthrough

Build a reliable garage routine and prepare for progressively deeper routes. Upgrade priorities and hazard checks are organized by stage rather than a single mandatory build.

🔄 The Pacific Drive excursion cycle
1
🔧 Prepare at the garage

Repair, choose upgrades and replenish supplies before leaving.

2
🚗 Explore the Zone

Collect materials, avoid hazards and manage the route to the gateway.

3
📦 Bring materials home

Return through the gateway and use the supplies in your trunk for crafting.

4
⬆️ Improve the garage

Fit useful unlocked equipment and prepare for the next trip. Expand into later routes as progression permits.

🌲
Early stages
Outer Zone: Learn the survival routine
  1. 1
Learn the route and storm information

Before leaving, learn how the route information, ARC device and return gateway work. During the trip, watch for changing conditions and preserve time for the way back. A separate craftable Weather Radio and its earlier recipe are not established here.

  2. 2
    Fit suitable tires

Check tire condition and choose an available type for the next surface. Carry repairs or a spare as needed. No universal 50% reduction in acid damage is established for a generic reinforced tire.

  3. 3
Increase storage when collection starts filling it

An unlocked storage option can make material trips more useful. Check mounting requirements and available slots before crafting it. Extra space supports collection but does not guarantee a fixed 50% increase in yield.

  4. 4
Repair before departing on the next trip

Starting with damaged parts reduces the margin for the next encounter. Inspect the whole wagon after returning and repair or replace what is needed before heading out again.

  5. 5
Keep track of the return route and remaining safe time

Check the gateway location and whether the wagon can reach it. Allow time for driving, detours and repairs. Any ten-minute example is a planning illustration, not a fixed rule applying to every junction.

🚗
Middle stages
Mid-Zone: Specialize your preparation
  1. 1
    Choose tires for rougher routes

Check the surface and choose a suitable unlocked tire. Rough ground and obstacles still require careful driving. There is no verified universal suspension upgrade that reduces all off-road damage by 40%.

  2. 2
Consider an engine when the wagon is reliable

Compare available engines and fuel requirements before replacing a working one. More power is useful only if you can maintain control and complete the return route; a generic 20% speed increase is not assumed.

  3. 3
    Check your headlights

Keep the lights working before entering low visibility. Watch the terrain within the illuminated area and slow down when you cannot read the road. A fixed 60% improvement in visibility is not established here.

  4. 4
Use route information to plan collection stops

Check junction resources, conditions and routes before committing to a longer trip. Plan facilities relevant to your next recipe while maintaining a way back. Navigation advice does not imply an unverified craftable system that reveals every anomaly.

  5. 5
Plan fuel for a longer excursion

Check the expected distance, refueling opportunities and any unlocked extra fuel storage. Actual capacity depends on the part; do not assume every tank upgrade adds 40%.

🏁
Later stages
Deep Zone and later objectives: Prepare for the specific route
  1. 1
Match protective parts to acid hazards

Check the relevant parts and their actual acid resistance before entering a corrosive route. Use the blueprint shown in your game. A universal Hazmat Coating with a fixed 60% reduction and the earlier three-material recipe is not established.

  2. 2
    Match protection to electrical hazards

Check the electrical protection on available panels, doors and other appropriate parts. Keep clear of the visible effect where possible. Do not assume an Interior Insulation upgrade universally reduces EMP damage by 50%.

  3. 3
    Use anchors for ARC energy

Collect the anchor energy needed by the ARC device and plan a gateway return. Anchors do not fix the wagon in place to let a storm pass safely, and a storm is not an opportunity to resume scavenging in the same hazardous area.

  4. 4
Maintain a fuel reserve on longer trips

Check fuel before departure and use available refueling opportunities. Match the route to the range of the actual engine and tanks rather than relying on an unverified module promising a fixed 25% reduction.

  5. 5
Prepare for the next story objective

Read the current objective and prepare fuel, working parts and repair supplies before the longer trip. The Olympic Exclusion Zone is the setting throughout the game, not a final area unlocked after every upgrade is purchased.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Q1. What happens if I fail an excursion or wreck the wagon?
You can return to the garage after a failed trip, but some carried supplies may be lost. Do not treat death as a way to retain every material you collected. Review the route, repairs and preparation that failed, then use what you learned on the next attempt.
Q2. How do the parts of the Zone differ?
The starting region is the Outer Zone, followed by the Mid-Zone and Deep Zone as progression opens routes. Conditions, resources and hazards vary by junction. Check the available route information and prepare suitable parts before pushing farther; the Olympic Exclusion Zone is the overall setting, not a final destination reached only at the ending.
Q3. How should I handle unusual wagon behavior?
Distinguish ordinary damage from a quirk. Observe which action causes which response, record the relevant parts and diagnose the relationship at the Tinker Station. Repair or replace damaged components separately. Do not rely on cleaning or honking to create unverified handling or fuel-economy bonuses.
Q4. How should I prepare for later story trips?
Check the current objective, the route, fuel, working parts and repair supplies. Bring materials for the repairs you can make and choose protection for the expected hazards. There is no universal requirement to equip every upgrade or complete three or four Outer Zone trips before the ending.
