“Survive an abandoned, anomaly-filled Zone with your station wagon as your lifeline” — Editorial summary

🚗 Pacific Drive at a glance

🚙 Surviving with your wagon

The station wagon is more than transport: it is your lifeline. Repairing and upgrading it, then configuring it for the next journey, is central to surviving the Zone.

🔄 Excursion and return cycle

Leave the garage, explore the Zone, collect materials and make it back. Successful returns bring resources for the next upgrade. Failure can cost carried supplies, so do not assume every material collected during a failed trip is retained.

⚡ Anomalies and unusual threats

Storms, corrosive hazards and electrical anomalies can obstruct the route. Observe their effects and choose a way around them; different situations call for different responses.

💛 The wagon and its quirks

Unusual behavior is handled through the quirk system. Record the triggering action and resulting effect, then diagnose it at the Tinker Station. This is not a verified happiness or anger meter, and cleaning the wagon or sounding the horn does not establish a trust bonus.

⚡ Anomalies and hazards
S

Instability Storm (Instability Storm)

A radiation storm that closes in as stability collapses. Growing instability gives a warning, followed by yellow and red fronts. Prioritize returning rather than parking to wait it out.

A

Belching Barnacle (Belching Barnacle)

A geyser-like anomaly in The Mires. Sludge hitting the wagon obscures the windshield; material landing on the ground can become a Rotten Egg.

B

Tourist (Tourist)

Mannequin-like anomalies that can move while unobserved. Contact causes an explosion that can trigger nearby Tourists; keep clear of a group to avoid a chain reaction.

B

Pufferfish (Pufferfish)

An inflating airbag-like anomaly. It repels a nearby person with air; approaching in the wagon makes it leap away and leave a Glittering Boulder. Watch its movement and the objects it leaves behind.

A

Spark Tower (Spark Tower)

A tower that sends electrical bolts toward nearby targets. Destroying all generators shuts it down. Insulated parts help preparation but do not establish immunity or a universal 15 m safe radius.

B

Hot Dust (Hot Dust)

A yellow-green hemispherical radiation hazard. Avoid remaining within the affected area and plan a route around it.

A

Abductor (Abductor)

A floating mass of scrap that grabs the wagon or objects with a magnet and drags them. Collisions with trees and obstacles are the main concern; low speed alone does not make contact safe.

C

Bollard (Bollard)

A section of ground that rises as a physical obstruction, sometimes sinking again later. Seismic Squalls can also produce them; leave room to steer around the obstruction.

FAQ

Pacific Drive FAQ

Q1 Which upgrades should I prioritize first? ▼
A

First inspect the tires, panels and engine and prepare fuel and appropriate repairs. Then select unlocked equipment for the next route. Increase storage when useful and improve the engine when the wagon is reliable. A separate Weather Radio upgrade is not required by this guide.

Q2 How can I avoid a storm? ▼
A

Watch route and in-world warnings and head for a gateway while the route remains viable. Plan the ARC energy and the drive to the gateway before committing. Anchors supply energy; they do not make it safe to park through the storm.

Q3 What do unusual wagon behaviors mean? ▼
A

The wagon can develop quirks linking an action to an unexpected response. Record the cause and effect and diagnose them at the Tinker Station. This is separate from ordinary part damage and does not establish a happiness, trust, anxiety or anger meter.

Q4 How long does it take to finish? ▼
A

Time varies with exploration, repairs and retries. The earlier estimates of 20–30 hours for the story and 40–60 hours for more exploration are unverified planning estimates, not measured completion data or guarantees. A failed trip can also cost carried materials.

Q5 Does it support Japanese? ▼
A

The Steam listing supports Japanese interface text and subtitles, with English audio. PC and PS5 versions are available. Check the relevant regional store for the current price; the older ¥4,300 figure is not a current price guarantee.
