Order of the Sinking Star Characters and Abilities: Coordination and Gold Rooms

Released: basic rules and exploration guide · Updated 2026-10-10

Problems with multiple characters require a different approach from simply moving one character toward the exit. First consider how to place the next character where they can act, rather than comparing ability strength.

Confirmed characters and how to examine abilities

The northern classes include Warrior, Thief, Wizard, Bard, Cleric and Druid. Introductions show coordinated pushing, pulling and movement past obstacles, but this table does not assign a specific action to each class.

Before checking individual actions, do not assume, for example, that a Warrior can always move a particular object. Check the actions and targets displayed on the current board.

Character groupWorldWhat to check
Moving crew with 6 classesNorthWho can move an object, action direction and where the next character can stand

SailorSouthSkipping-stone landing points and travel routes over water

This is not an individual stat table for every character and ability.

Record coordination as actor, target and next foothold

When moving characters in sequence, check whether a later character can reach the required position, rather than only whether the first move approaches the exit.

  1. Separate one goal, such as moving an object or getting a character across.
  2. Identify who can perform that action and where they must stand.
  3. Check whether an earlier action would block the route.
  4. After the first character acts, check the second character's position and target.
  5. Record both the successful state and the arrangement immediately before it.

After a Gold Room, examine 2 worlds' rules together

Solving a Gold Room connects 2 worlds, bringing their characters and puzzle systems together. The connected structure includes 6 areas combining pairs of worlds.

For example, a light-and-mirror combination requires considering both light states and swap destinations. When northern characters meet southern water rules, check the water route after manipulating objects too.

  1. Identify the 2 original worlds being combined.
  2. Review the actions that worked in each original world one at a time.
  3. Look for places where one action changes the other world's mechanism.
  4. Check routes for the character performing the next action as well as for objects.

Gold Room locations, solutions and the full connection-unlock order remain unverified.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q1 Is there a strongest-character ranking? ▼
A

This page covers roles for solving boards rather than comparing ability strength. It does not provide strongest-character rankings or unverified character-specific actions.

Q2 What changes after solving a Gold Room? ▼
A

Two worlds connect, combining characters and puzzle rules. Afterward, check the effects of both sets of actions rather than relying on one world's approach alone.
