Order of the Sinking Star Puzzle Tips: Mirrors, Light and Water Travel

Released: basic rules and exploration guide · Updated 2026-10-10

Before seeking the answer, distinguish being unable to act, unable to proceed after acting and unable to maintain several conditions together. This helps avoid repeating the same attempt. These are approaches based on confirmed mechanics, not individual solutions.

Choose your next check by how you are stuck

Focus on one failing action rather than solving the entire board at once. When testing whether a result changes, change one object or character at a time too.

Steps for testing one hypothesis

This does not guarantee a minimum-move solution. It is a working method for recording which changes alter the outcome.

  1. Choose the exit, foothold or passage you want to reach.
  2. Consider where characters or objects need to be immediately before that goal.
  3. Write down one condition for the action that moves them there.
  4. Test only actions that change that condition.
  5. If the result differs, check changes beyond the object you moved.
  6. If repeating the same attempt, leave notes and explore another region.

Pair arrangement notes with unresolved conditions for revisits

When you can freely return, notes help you remember the problem on seeing a board later. Record features such as islands, mirrors, gems and waterways as well as the world name.

Compare boards before reading demo or other-version solutions

Do not assume the released PC version and previously available demos cover the same content. Matching guide numbers alone do not establish identical steps if characters, footholds or obstacles differ.

Also avoid treating another site's own puzzle numbering as official game numbering. This guide includes neither unverified action sequences nor a complete puzzle-number table.
