What is My Time at Portia?
Check early PC progression in the order of accepting, processing, assembling and delivering. Choose the beginner, progression or material guide based on the requirement you currently lack.
Edition: Normal play in the original My Time at Portia PC Steam base game, app 666140. Covers the introduction, early town-building requests and basic early-to-mid-game workshop equipment. Consoles, mobile, sequels, mods and the late-game Factory are outside scope.
Verification scope: Official product pages, announcements and public guides compared on 2026-10-04. No game launch, current build-number check or full Japanese UI comparison was performed. Numerical tables use unmodified base requirements.

Complete one workshop job at a time
Choose a request, check what it needs, process the materials and deliver the result. Farming and social activities are also available, but when workshop progress stalls, check equipment, diagrams, inventory and the recipient separately to find the cause.

| What to check | This guide's baseline | If yours differs |
|---|---|---|
| Product | The original base game, Steam app 666140 | Do not apply similarly named materials or equipment from Sandrock or Evershine |
| Controls | Default PC keyboard examples | Use your remapped keys and the on-screen prompts |
| Coverage | Introduction, early town-building requests and basic workshop equipment | All romance branches, the late-game Factory and every recipe are outside scope |
| Japanese | The official store lists interface and subtitle support | Important equipment also has English names to help distinguish translations |

The verification date is when public sources were read. It is not a measured playtime or a guarantee about the current build. News about another game is not treated as a new feature in the original Portia.

| Problem | Current situation | First check | Guide to read |
|---|---|---|---|
| You have materials but cannot assemble | A translucent model is visible | Have you selected the required processed material in the hotbar? | Beginner: manual assembly |
| A machine's remaining time is not decreasing | You selected the recipe | Does the machine have the correct fuel remaining? | Beginner: machine checks |
| The required diagram is missing | You requested research | Is it regular or mission-specific research, and have you collected the mail? | Equipment and materials: research |
| You cannot accept a commission | There are requests on the board | Are you holding a regular commission, or have you already accepted one today? | Beginner: accepting and delivering |
| You crafted the item, but the mission is unfinished | You have the required quantity | Does this stage require delivery to a person or installation at a location? | Early progression: the relevant solution |
| You know the material name but cannot make it | It is not listed at the Worktable | Are you using the correct Worktable, furnace or cutter? | Equipment and materials: processing locations |
| You start the morning with little stamina | You are sleeping | Have all holes in the house floor been repaired? | Beginner: time and recovery |

Separate inventory, processing, assembly and delivery
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Stage | Evidence of completion | What is still unfinished |
|---|---|---|
| Have the materials | Item names and quantities match | Ore has not yet become bars or plates |
| Process | Processed items are ready to collect from the output slot | Adding raw materials does not put the finished goods in your inventory |
| Assemble | All components are attached and the finished item can be collected | Displaying it in your workshop does not deliver it to the requester |
| Deliver | The request advances, or completion and rewards are confirmed | Gifting and mission delivery are separate actions |

This is a method of checking one stage back. Buying every material or adding every machine is not the first suggested solution.
Choose one job in the morning and start machines first
- Read your mail and mission list; distinguish deadline-based jobs from those waiting for the next stage
- Trace the chosen finished item back to raw materials, noting missing diagrams, machines and gatherable resources
- Start processing available raw materials and check the remaining fuel time before heading out
- After gathering, collect outputs, check your inventory and recipient, then deliver
This is an editorial example. You do not have to accept a commission every morning. You can choose a job you can finish now instead of taking a timed request for something awaiting research.
Check deadlines for each request
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Display / situation | Assessment | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Days remaining are displayed | Allow for processing and delivery travel as well as gathering | Estimate when the finished item will be ready before accepting |
| A main-story job | This does not mean all such jobs are untimed | Read the individual mission screen |
| No deadline, but fewer requests remain on the board | Other workshops may compete to accept them | Distinguish this from an ordinary due date |
| High reward, but you lack the diagram | Material stocks alone cannot produce the item | Check equipment and research requirements; choose another job if it is impractical |
