1. Inspect the car and letters
- Inspect the car and use the Car Key you hold. Read the manual and letter in the glovebox.
- Also check the photograph that falls from the manual. Confirm the material you read has entered Photographic Memory.
- Follow the path from the bridge in front of the hotel to the gate. Read the letter from the dog on the gate's right.
- Combine the car letter's date with the instruction specifying the year of arrival.

Gatehouse input and reasoning
The car letter is dated 1962. The visit is the following year, so the gatehouse lock uses 1963. Enter it at the hut left of the gate.
2. Turn on power in the hut
- Pick up the handheld BSGS on the hut's right. Open its menu when you want a calculator.
- Save at the computer. Read the letter on the left noticeboard, then approach the electrical-panel lock.
- Use the number of years to go back to derive the lock answer. After opening it, inspect the number puzzle inside.
- Choose 3 numbers whose sum is 2014 and press the round confirmation button. Check candidates on your own screen.

Electrical panel's outer lock: Formula
Go back 116 years from the arrival year 1963: 1963 − 116 = 1847. Enter 1847 here. The following total-2014 problem is a separate puzzle, not another place to enter those 4 digits.
3. From garden to front door
- Leave the hut and pass through the open gate into the garden.
- Inspect the hotel's front door, then look at the input panel on its right.
- Check the dots on the buttons and press from the fewest upward.
- Once open, enter the hotel. You can now investigate several rooms in parallel.

Ordering by dot count gives 1847. This matches the electrical panel's outer number, but this clue comes from the dots on the input panel.
