Crystals prepare the number of tool uses. Allocate them before each day so the tool you need does not run out midway through an inspection.
5 investigation tools
Returning and confiscating after tool use are different choices. Finding contraband and returning it does not meet the same condition as confiscation.

Distinguish rewinding from external game files
After receiving the Chronometer3000, you can use the system to redo inspections and scenes. Level 3's Saruna includes rewinding after seeing the X-Ray result.
Deleting, renaming, or distributing save files outside the game is excluded from the normal walkthrough. Collecting every branch may require separate saves or replaying; first check your current platform's save and rewind limits.
Do not sell items needed later
Early bread, rice, and Fosse's flamethrower are used for specific later characters. Check their purpose rather than selling everything sellable. Fosse relates to Professor Phogg's recruitment route in 9.
