Lorbenia and Grenoble: Accept Ancient Cave work
The first game's Ancient Cave involves floor access and requests. It differs from II's 99-floor random exploration and blue-chest carry-in rules.
Towns and dungeons to check: Lorbenia / Grenoble / Ancient Cave B2
Check before entering
- Save healing options Lufia can use before entering the women-only section.
- Aguro temporarily leaves in Lorbenia. Check the Lou event on the large store's third floor and the conversations afterward.
- Finish the inn event and go outside. Confirm Aguro has returned on the party screen, then go southwest to Grenoble.
- Accept the old man's request to find Angel's Kiss at Grenoble's treasure exchange. Also check the receptionist's Treasure Map job.
- Enter Ancient Cave B2 and search for the requested item. Lufia enters the women-only section alone, so restore her HP immediately beforehand.
- Return to town and give Angel's Kiss to the old man. Receive the letter needed to enter the tower, and report the map job at the exchange too.
Optional detours
- Collect B2's Power Ring separately from the requested item. Do not treat deeper-floor jobs as mandatory main-story conditions.
- Sources describe the Lorbenia inn differently: staying overnight versus going outside after talking. This guide uses event completion and Aguro's return as the milestones.
Next progression milestone: Receive the tower-entry letter and head to the tower northwest of Grenoble.

Northwest tower, Kirof, and Medan: Link conversations after the solo fight
The protagonist fights Artea's pupil alone in the tower. The clues after victory lead into incidents in Kirof and Medan.
Towns and dungeons to check: Tower northwest of Grenoble / Kirof / Medan
- Enter the tower northwest of Grenoble and check the protagonist's HP and healing items before speaking to Artea's pupil on 4F.
- Finish the contest with the pupil and hear about Elfrea. Also check receipt of the Speed Source before leaving the tower.
- See the Mark and Reina event at the back of Kirof's item shop. Next, enter Medan Castle's basement and hear the princess and soldiers.
- Return to Kirof and accept the search for Reina. After Mark accompanies you, head to the Ghost Cave north of Kirof.
Artea's pupil: Heal with the protagonist alone
- The opponent raises speed with Fake. Prepare healing items the protagonist can use alone; do not keep repeating weak heals when their recovery cannot keep pace.
- Prioritize remaining able to heal after the counterattack. Do not reuse a normal three-person party's healing division in this solo battle.
Next progression milestone: Confirm Mark's accompaniment and the search request before entering the Ghost Cave.

Ghost Cave: Invisible paths and Devil Ghost
Stair choices from the entrance onward and the late aerial walkway are easy places to lose your way.
Towns and dungeons to check: Ghost Cave
- Locate the healing point beyond the first rope ladder. Remember how to return before going deeper.
- On the entrance-side map, pass through the lower-right small room; beyond it, use the left stairs. Where five stairways line up, take the lower central one.
- In the final hall, try walking north even where the path appears broken. Do not judge it a dead end from appearance alone.
- Defeat Devil Ghost and finish the return-to-Kirof event. Talk to Reina's father to receive thanks, then continue via Medan toward Belgen.
Devil Ghost: Separate offense from status recovery
- Prepare to recover from sleep and confusion as well as party-wide fire magic. When an attacker is incapacitated, prioritize healing and status removal.
- If you have the Ghost Ring, use it for Aguro's attacks. Have the protagonist and Lufia maintain HP and provide support such as Drain instead of everyone attacking.
Optional detours
- Check items in Medan homes on the return trip too. The exact deadline for the Hi-Potion remains unverified, so missing it is not treated as blocking progression.
Next progression milestone: Finish rescuing Reina and head to the passage cave northeast of Medan.

Belgen, the altar, and Sacrifice Tower: Rescue Jerin
Hear the village's request before going to the altar. The tower rescue and formal joining at the Lost Forest guide station are separate events.
Towns and dungeons to check: Medan / Cave northeast of Medan / Belgen / Cave southwest of Belgen / Cave west of Belgen / Sacrificial Altar / Sacrifice Tower / Surinagar / Lost Forest guide station / Lost Forest / Shrine
- Pass through the cave northeast of Medan to Belgen. Hear the village's situation and offer help to the woman farther inside.
- Go to B5 of the cave southwest of Belgen and take the key beyond the man. Circle north of the village and pass through the cave west of Belgen to reach the altar.
- Check Jerin's condition at the Sacrificial Altar. Return toward the exit to advance the incident, heal using the pots on both sides, then enter the northern tower.
- High in Sacrifice Tower, choose the boss-side warps right, up, up. Defeat Amon's henchman and complete the rescue.
- After returning to Belgen, pass through Surinagar to the Lost Forest guide station. Once Jerin formally joins, follow her guidance through the forest.
Companion joining and changes
- Do not assume you can freely use Jerin in combat immediately after rescuing her. Confirm formal joining during the Lost Forest guide-station event.
Amon's henchman: Heal at the altar before fighting
- Use the altar's healing before climbing, and separate attackers from healing/support roles before the boss.
- Keep one member attacking while the other two choose healing according to damage. Avoid having everyone attack while putting off recovery.
Next progression milestone: Jerin becomes a combat member, allowing you to reach Jenoba beyond the Lost Forest.
