Up to level 10 for each character

Version 1.0 added up to ten progression levels per character. Check the progression page and encyclopedia for unlocks. Nera is the character added in 1.0. The Golden Quartet achievement requires all characters at maximum level. Each character’s first clear and completing everyone’s progression are separate goals.

Checks immediately after switching characters

  1. Read the starting relic’s triggers. Identify whether it checks block, energy, deck size or another resource.
  2. Place the starting dice and check which board positions their effects reach.
  3. First test whether even the worst roll can produce the defense you need.
  4. Understand one condition that strengthens your damage and one that prevents activation before choosing rewards.

Do not fix a build by character name alone

Starting choices and rewards change builds even for the same character. Adjust to draw, energy and board space rather than assuming one mandatory finished deck. For example, Unrestrained Potential in 1.0 checks the number of dice in your deck, so removing dice is not always correct. Prioritize the conditions of your selected relics and current dice over a character’s name.

Separate unlock conditions from suggested playing order

Some official achievement entries hide their conditions. Do not infer a character’s unlock requirement or required run count from an achievement name alone. The suggested order for trying characters is editorial advice, not a forced sequence. Check the locked character’s screen and pursue the relevant goal with a character already available.

Frequently asked questions

Was Mango added in 1.0?

No. Nera was added in 1.0. The four characters are Cinder, Lisver, Mango and Nera.

Does Parry require action-game reflexes?

This is turn-based. Read Parry as an effect involving enemy attacks and a remaining value, rather than a mechanic triggered by pressing a button at the moment of impact.

Do you have every starting-dice setup?

All current starting dice and level rewards have not yet been cross-checked. Instead of inventing names or values, this guide explains what to check on the starting screen and in the encyclopedia.
