Mechanics to check first

  • ●Version 1.0 includes four playable Dice Knights, character progression, D8 Difficulty and boss challenges.
  • ●Dice form your deck in place of cards, creating effects through their positions and combinations on the board.
  • ●Character traits, dice and relics change through updates. Use the current in-game descriptions as the final reference for individual values.

Build directions and weaknesses

Direct damage

Core: Place damage dice within the support dice’s effect range to build the turn’s output. Adjacency alone does not guarantee that support reaches them.

Add: Rerolls, draw and ways to free board space.

Weakness: Adding only attack dice can reduce the efficiency of support and placement.

Scaling and longer fights

Core: Build around effects that grow over turns or repeated use.

Add: Defense, healing and enough actions to reach the payoff.

Weakness: Short fights, or enemies that deal heavy damage before scaling starts.

Defense and healing

Core: Use block and healing to survive, then deal dependable damage with the remaining slots.

Add: A damage source that scales in longer fights and the board space it needs.

Weakness: Too much defense can prolong combat and leave you unable to break through strengthened enemies.

Consistency and deck management

Core: Aim to use your main dice and support together each turn, rather than merely adding individually strong dice.

Add: Upgrades, removing unnecessary slots, rerolls and draw.

Weakness: Thinning for its own sake can remove essential roles.

Decision order during a run

  1. 1Read the Dice Knight’s trait and starting dice, then choose one main win condition.
  2. 2Before taking a die, identify whether it supplies damage, amplification, defense or consistency.
  3. 3Place the combination on the board and check that its target ranges and activation order actually connect.
  4. 4Before a boss, check whether even the worst roll lets you produce useful damage or defense.
