The original PC game and this guide's scope
This covers Steam app 599140, connecting early manual gathering and processing with graveyard improvements, the church and research. It is not a complete walkthrough of late-game requests or additional content.

| Category | Covered in these guides | Outside scope |
|---|---|---|
| Base game | Introduction, basic workshop, graveyard, church and initial research | All late-game requests and all alchemy recipes |
| Breaking Dead | Identify it as additional content included with the Steam base game | Processing and transport routes that require zombies |
| Paid DLC | Check which content is installed | Do not assume tavern management, refugee facilities or additional soul-related workstations are part of the base-game route |
| Other editions and the sequel | Compare requirements with the original PC game | Do not mix in console DLC arrangements or Graveyard Keeper 2 technologies |

Work backward from one finished item
For a single item, write down the chain “finished item → workstation → processed materials → raw materials.” This helps you move beyond gathering indefinitely without finishing anything.
- Choose one current request and record the item and quality required
- Check where the item is processed; if you lack the workstation, work back one step to its construction materials
- Separate materials for processing from items you need to carry for delivery
- Before travelling far, check the visitor's day and combine delivery and trading in the same trip
This is an editorial method for organizing your work. It does not claim that developing all technologies evenly will make progress impossible.
Verification scope and common misreadings
This article was not written from a session in the current PC game. English material and workstation names are included so you can compare them even when Japanese names differ.
Wide tables scroll horizontally.
| Keep these separate | Why |
|---|---|
| Graveyard rating / church quality | They are separate values with different roles in requests and sermons |
| Technology points / Science / Faith | Research-table resources are different from the points spent on technologies |
| Building a workstation / upgrading an existing one | Even for the same higher-level workstation, the material lists may differ |
| Recipes in older sources / the current display | For repair kits and other disputed quantities, use the in-game display |
