Thracia 776 early-game guide | Weapons and Lifis recruitment from Chapter 1 through Chapter 2x

Your early objectives are to collect strong weapons, protect the houses to enter Chapter 2x, and clear it while Lifis remains captured. Prioritize visits and recruitment conditions that are difficult to recover over prolonging experience grinding.

Chapter 1: assign specific visitors to the houses

Send Osian to the house south of the village, outside its fence, to receive Pugi. Halvan visits the house in the east of the village for the Brave Axe. Who visits matters for these two items, so do not assume a passing ally's visit completes the task.

Collect the Life Ring from the northwestern house too. If you cannot immediately decide who should use a stat booster, you can check the inventory and store it. Before rushing to seize, verify that Osian and Halvan actually hold the intended weapons.

Chapter 1: practice capture and collection on manageable enemies

Learn the capture sequence using enemies carrying Vulneraries or everyday weapons. First check the capturing unit's HP and whether Capture is selectable. Weaken the enemy with another ally if needed, but watch remaining HP so you do not defeat them with a normal attack.

After capturing, use Trade to collect items. The capturing ally has reduced combat ability, so do not end the turn surrounded by enemies. Leave inventory space on the collecting ally too, to avoid the hassle of capturing someone without being able to take the items. Prioritize allied safety instead of forcing captures against dangerous targets.

Chapter 2: protect houses and secure Ronan and the ring

To enter the side chapter, clear Chapter 2 without any houses being destroyed. Ronan joins at the northwestern house, and the northeastern house provides a Speed Ring. Assign roles to clear paths to houses and stop approaching enemies, instead of heading only for the boss.

Even when sending Eyvel or Finn ahead, do not leave Leif behind. Watch the distance between the group advancing to seize and the group defending the houses. When reinforcements appear, check their positions and first see whether they can reach unvisited houses or allies who are healing.

Check side-chapter requirements before seizing

Inspect every house, recruit Ronan, and collect the Speed Ring before seizing the manor. The key caution is not to assume everything you need is done just because the boss is defeated.

The following side chapter has fog of war. Distribute Vulneraries and weapons rather than piling them onto one unit, so advancing allies can recover independently. Keep your Chapter 2 end save and update it only after confirming that you reached the side chapter; this makes it easier to identify a failed village defense.

Chapter 2x: expand vision before advancing the formation

On Pirate Isle, avoid sending someone alone into darkness. Wait at the fort in the lower left of the starting island to obtain a Torch, and use it for vision. Keep allies who can defeat newly revealed enemies behind your scout, and avoid leaving one unit surrounded in a narrow passage.

Leave Shiva alive while heading for Lifis's fort. Since he can join later, this early guide does not require you to obtain his Killing Edge. Shiva also moves if you wait long enough, so a cautious approach avoids extending your stay to grind reinforcements for experience.

Clear with Lifis captured, without releasing him

Lifis has no weapon. Place an ally who meets the capture requirements beside him and choose Capture. If the conditions are met, he can be captured without combat, so do not defeat him with an ordinary attack.

The most important point is not to select Release afterward. If Leif seizes while Lifis remains captured, Lifis joins from the next chapter. Safy also joins after clearing the side chapter. Check that he is still held separately from whether you have taken his items.

Remember to organize equipment before seizing in the next chapter

After the side chapter, keep a save before starting Chapter 3. Events at the end of Chapter 3 split the force, and Leif's and Lifis's inventories are recovered from chests in the following chapter. Recheck who holds important items before finishing Chapter 3.

Checks before moving on

  • You collected Osian's Pugi and Halvan's Brave Axe
  • No houses were destroyed in Chapter 2, and Ronan joined
  • You did not defeat Shiva in Chapter 2x
  • You seized while keeping Lifis captured

Can I defeat Lifis and talk to him afterward?

This is not a normal-attack defeat sequence. Capture the unarmed Lifis and end the chapter without releasing him.

Back to contents ↑

Do I need to get Shiva's Killing Edge?

This guide does not pursue it. Leave him alive to preserve his later recruitment opportunity, avoid lengthy grinding, and prioritize capturing Lifis and seizing.
