DUNGEON CLAWLER / CHARACTER COMPARISON

🏆 Character comparison: choose by goal

The strongest choice changes with claw control, the items you find and Debt Level. Without measured win rates, this guide organizes characters by what you want to try rather than assigning S–D tiers. Names and abilities for all 28 characters, including the 3 added in 1.1.1, are in the character roster.

Scope: PC/Steam 1.1.2. Checked 2026-10-02 (JST) against official updates and player sources. These build suggestions are not ranked by measured win rates. The name Poison Flask has not been checked against the current UI. It is not assumed to be the same name as Toxicarl’s character-specific Flask.

Why priorities change from a first run to high Debt Levels

For a first run, characters that make item roles easy to understand are more manageable. Higher Debt Levels place more weight on reliable collection, healing, defense and deck cleanup. A single fixed strongest character overlooks differences caused by item offers and claw shapes.

After choosing a character, use the first few fights to check attacks, defense/healing and the requirements for the character’s ability. For build direction, see the build guide.

Characters added in version 1.1.1

Necronancy, Greatmage Augmentus and Smitty Barb were added. Their abilities have not been checked sufficiently to justify provisional rankings. Find their unlock conditions in the full character roster.
