STAR OCEAN BLUE SPHERE Guide (GB/GBC)

This guide covers the Game Boy / Game Boy Color version of STAR OCEAN BLUE SPHERE, released in 2001. Although set 2 years after The Second Story, its growth and exploration systems are not the same as its predecessor's. Information for the mobile-phone remake is kept separate; this guide is for the original cartridge.

First decide whom to use and which abilities you want to learn. Skill-point allocation includes irreversible decisions. The main article, “Early Party Building, Growth, and Mile Ruins,” covers parties with a healer, checks before allocation, and exploration mechanisms that can stop progress.

Covers the basics for getting from the first ruins to the next exploration area. It does not cover every character's final growth, all item collection, or every Private Action. A distant visible chest may require a field action learned later; note its location and move on if you cannot reach it yet.
