Start with this guide

The starting point is learning when to use support from an adjacent ally and when to use Pair Up to place two units on one square. The available article takes you through trading weapons in Chapter 2, recruiting Kellam in Chapter 3, and Donnel's requirement in Paralogue 1.

Choose difficulty and mode separately

The first article uses Normal as its reference. Do not assume its enemy positions or ways of taking attacks apply unchanged to Hard, Lunatic, or the unlockable Lunatic+. Casual and Classic are separate settings governing what happens to fallen allies.

In Casual mode, fallen allies return for the next battle, but you still get a game over if Chrom or your avatar reaches 0 HP. In Classic, you continue without lost allies, so make a habit of saving before each chapter and checking the combat forecast.

Main game and additional content

The article does not assume you strengthen your army using additional maps, distributed items, or Renown rewards. New purchases of 3DS downloadable content have ended. Redownloading content bought previously is treated separately, so do not follow purchase instructions in older guides as current procedures.
