Learn healing and spell preparation before leaving the opening area. Learning a spell does not automatically make every spell ready to cast.
Opening-room checklist
The Lichhouse altar introduces prayer and preparation. Read the choices before advancing through Move on.
Steps and checks
- Inspect the nearby items and altar after waking.
- Check the apple and altar, then read the healing options.
- At a shrine, assign a spell to an available slot of the correct level.
- Prepare Cure Wounds and watch for its availability in dialogue.
Learn, prepare and cast
Your known spells, prepared slots and valid casting opportunities are separate checks. Dialogue spells become available in an appropriate context.

Opening spell and choice costs
Reveal solutions / spoilers
Look for Shield of Faith beside the apple pile. Picking up the Voting Card is described as reducing Intelligence, so read the stat consequence before committing.
- Inspect the shelves and slabs.
- After finding Shield of Faith, check its preparation at the shrine.
- Compare stats and inventory before and after a choice.
Questing Tree and branches
Inspect quests and available Contemplate actions in the Questing Tree. A failed check may branch the story rather than end progression; a guide's route is only one possibility.
