Energy Breaker(Super Famicom)

⚔️ Character-specific equipment and hidden gear that changes over time

Each character has dedicated weapon and armor lines. Alongside high-tier shop gear, hidden equipment changes performance depending on when you obtain it during the past-era sequence. Development items such as energy-limit stones and Vitality Essence also strongly affect late-game reliability. This overview focuses on who should carry what and which collections to prioritize.

Energy Breaker — what should I check first in Equipment, strongest gear, and hidden equipment?

Weapons are character-specific: Maira uses whips, Runarudo uses gunpowder and tools, and Staa uses claws. Prices rise sharply with attack power. Some weapons modify attributes: Birdwind Whip raises Dex and movement, while Break Beaut strengthens Con and Luk. Armor also has fixed eligible users; higher-tier options include Protective Dress, Gale Robe, and Superalloy Lab Coat. Give damage dealers weapons with useful modifiers and fragile characters strong armor, distributing gear by role.

📋 Progression checklist
Phase Objective Checklist
Early game Establish party roles
  • ・Build around 2 frontliners, 1 support character, and 1 healer
  • ・Let a high-mobility unit lead
  • ・Prioritize weapon upgrades when spending money
Midgame Optimize movement for each chapter's victory conditions
  • ・Change formations between elimination and defense battles
  • ・Check enemy reinforcement spawn points beforehand
  • ・Keep a training map available when underleveled
Late game Reduce mishaps on difficult maps
  • ・Prepare status protection for everyone
  • ・Reserve 2 slots for ranged damage dealers
  • ・Collect hidden equipment before the final battle
⚠️ Troubleshooting

1. Enemy reinforcements overwhelm you

Cause: Your starting formation is too aggressive

Solution: Pull your defensive line back and prioritize reinforcements

2. You can damage the boss, but ordinary enemies break your formation

Cause: Area attacks and healing are not cycling fast enough

Solution: Have support act earlier and add 1 character with area attacks

3. Late-game damage is insufficient

Cause: Development resources are spread too thinly

Solution: Concentrate resources on your main 4 characters and prioritize their equipment upgrades

Character-specific weapon and armor lines

Weapons are character-specific: Maira uses whips, Runarudo uses gunpowder and tools, and Staa uses claws. Prices rise sharply with attack power. Some weapons modify attributes: Birdwind Whip raises Dex and movement, while Break Beaut strengthens Con and Luk. Armor also has fixed eligible users; higher-tier options include Protective Dress, Gale Robe, and Superalloy Lab Coat. • ▸ Maira equips whips, Runarudo gunpowder/tools, and Staa claws
  • ▸ Birdwind Whip modifies Dex and movement; Faust Cannon modifies Dex but sharply lowers Luk, illustrating equipment trade-offs
  • ▸ Armor eligibility is fixed. Protect frontliners, but give rear characters a minimum level of Con too
  • ▸ Sell surplus gold dust and gold bars to fund equipment upgrades
Hidden equipment that changes with collection timing

Ancient Gunpowder and Protective Lab Coat around the past-era Wishing Falls become Cold Powder and Steel Lab Coat if left there and collected after returning to the present. Timing pickups across eras is a distinctive collection mechanic; without knowing it, you may miss the weaker versions. Choosing battle targets can also yield gear and materials: defeating Mazuaru and Mazueru grants Mashifuru Right Hand and Mashifuru Left Hand. Identify items you cannot obtain again within a playthrough before proceeding.

  • ▸ Collect Ancient Gunpowder and Protective Lab Coat in the present to obtain Cold Powder and Steel Lab Coat instead
  • ▸ Defeat both arm parts in Ensaikutsu's Mashifuru battle to obtain its right and left hands
  • ▸ The Tool Box found in a chest stores up to eight items and is essential for long-battle supplies
  • ▸ Before advancing, check the route's collection order for items that cannot be reacquired
Collect items that strengthen character development

Attribute Essence items raise stat maximums. Vitality Essence is particularly valuable, increasing maximum Bal by one point. Collect thirty Sparkling Pebbles for Vitality Essence, or ten for Eternal Wings used for travel, making pebble collection worthwhile throughout the game. Shining and Dark Colored Stones raise the light and dark limits of the four elemental energies, helping you reach desired technique allocations sooner. Adam's Apple directly adds one level, useful for companions falling behind.

  • ▸ Exchange thirty Sparkling Pebbles for Vitality Essence or ten for Eternal Wings
  • ▸ Use Shining/Dark Colored Stones to raise energy limits and reach the desired technique's spark requirements sooner
  • ▸ Permanently raise maximums with Strength Essence, Vigor Essence, and similar items before difficult sections
  • ▸ Secret manuals come from chests and show required allocations for techniques such as Elby and Aqua Zone
