Donut County basics | Size, water, fire and catapult
All 24 explanatory story stages and 20 Steam achievements covered · Updated 2026-10-12
Size is not the only reason an object will not drop. Check whether the hole contains water or an object still needed as a tool.
Small objects and the final house
Start with objects that fit the hole's diameter and gradually move to larger furniture or vehicles. For long or snagged objects, approach from an edge to change the falling direction.
Dropping houses, tents and residents can advance to the stage ending. Leave large buildings until last if you still need small objects for Trashopedia.
Water for birds, fire for targets
In Riverbed, let the bird drink water to empty the hole. In Raccoon Lagoon, water is fired upward to move the waterwheel or Ferris wheel, so use required devices before emptying it.
Collect fire from campfires, coals, kilns or similar sources and apply it to balloons, trailers or fireworks. Distinguish unlit rockets from lit ones.
Clear the landing point after launching
The catapult bought in Chicken Barn launches swallowed targets upward. To break a cage, move the hole after firing so it hits the ground, then collect its contents.
Use ground shadows for airborne targets. After launching Honey Nut Forest's frog, recollect both frog and attracted objects before the next target.
Achievements and Trashopedia are separate checks
Open registered items through the post-scene encyclopedia or the menu's Trashopedia. For Nerd, also check that every entry was viewed.
Leaving the radio for an achievement and registering it have different goals. Separate conditions through stage select after completion; do not assume repeating one action meets both.
