EyeGuy
EyeGuy📍 Where or when to check
Old World; check its response to light
🧠 Behavior
Official fixes confirm that light can provoke an attack. Illumination is not protection against every creature.
🎥 Filming advice
Keep room to retreat and avoid deliberately lighting its eyes for a shot. No fixed safe distance is assumed.
🏃 Escaping
Stop filming and retreat along a readable route if provoked. Do not try to stop it by shining more light.
Slurper
Slurper📍 Where or when to check
Old World ceilings; community alias
🧠 Behavior
Its hanging lure can pull a player upward. Check overhead before approaching an item beneath it.
🎥 Filming advice
Film briefly from a side position where the ceiling and hanging lure are visible, without passing underneath. If someone is caught, prioritize rescue over footage.
🏃 Escaping
A thrown spare object can help release a teammate. Check your configured throw control and avoid stepping into the lure yourself.
Knifo
Knifo📍 Where or when to check
Old World; community name also written Knifa
🧠 Behavior
A small knife-wielding pursuer. Listen for laughter and avoid its approaching strikes.
🎥 Filming advice
While framing a chased teammate, also check corners and other threats outside the frame. Keep the shot short enough to retreat.
🏃 Escaping
Leave room to move and avoid being driven into another enemy. Consider the Goo Ball or Shock Stick you actually have.
Snatcho
Snatcho📍 Where or when to check
Dark Old World passages; name also appears in official fixes
🧠 Behavior
A grabbing threat from the shadows. Watch the sound and team positions; official patches also record an invulnerability bug fix.
🎥 Filming advice
Do not crowd a grabbed teammate. Coordinate the light carrier and the route out.
🏃 Escaping
Light is a reported counter for driving it away. Do not apply that response indiscriminately to enemies such as EyeGuy.
Catchya Machine / Weeping
Catchya Machine / Weeping📍 Where or when to check
A capture-device encounter; Weeping is a community alias
🧠 Behavior
A device that traps a player and presents a text-entry rescue task. Catchya appears in official achievements; Weeping is a community name.
🎥 Filming advice
Check the task and nearby dangers before filming the captive. Do not leave everyone occupied with the camera.
🏃 Escaping
In online co-op, a free teammate reads the display and completes the task within its shown limits. Official patch notes state that the machine no longer spawns in single-player/offline mode; controller input is supported. Watch nearby threats while helping.
Barnacle Ball
Barnacle Ball📍 Where or when to check
Old World; community alias
🧠 Behavior
Uses close attacks, a projectile and a pulling attack. It is distinct from an immobile trap disguised as a wall.
🎥 Filming advice
Check cover and escape space before filming. Distance alone does not remove the projectile threat.
🏃 Escaping
Move out of the pull and use a corner or solid obstacle. Avoid gathering in front merely to set up a shot.
Flicker
Flicker📍 Where or when to check
Old World; identified in official achievements
🧠 Behavior
Flickering lights and red visual changes are reported warning signs. Looking at it is dangerous; this is not a generic giant-eye boss.
🎥 Filming advice
Do not make a close-up the objective. Stop the shot and prioritize looking away and finding the route out.
🏃 Escaping
Avoid turning to inspect its appearance; look toward a wall or floor and prioritize retreat. No tool is treated as a guaranteed safeguard.
The Ear
The Ear📍 Where or when to check
Old World; a sound-reactive encounter
🧠 Behavior
A sound-reactive creature, also identified by official achievements involving its attack.
🎥 Filming advice
Coordinate speaking and filming roles. Do not assume sound alone creates safety while another threat is nearby.
🏃 Escaping
The official achievement confirms scaring The Ear by being loud. Check microphone settings and keep space and a return route before approaching.
Larva
Larva📍 Where or when to check
Old World; also called Snatcher by the community
🧠 Behavior
Grabs and throws players, potentially toward another teammate. Avoid crowding everyone into the same rescue position.
🎥 Filming advice
Watch the captive and the escape route. Do not position another teammate in the throw path to stage footage.
🏃 Escaping
Stay clear of its reach and retreat with the terrain in mind. Defensive tools are not a guarantee of a damage-free rescue.
Jello
Jello📍 Where or when to check
Old World; official patches describe the capture visual effect
🧠 Behavior
A blob that envelops and carries a player. The capture overlay makes surrounding hazards harder to read.
🎥 Filming advice
Share rescue and filming duties so the whole team does not lose the route while following a captive.
🏃 Escaping
Change course before contact and use corners or changes in level to create space. If caught, call out the location and nearby hazards.
Big Slap
Big Slap📍 Where or when to check
Old World; identified in official achievements
🧠 Behavior
A large threat with powerful attacks. Observing it while it wanders is not a guarantee that an alert pursuit can be escaped.
🎥 Filming advice
Check cover and a way out before filming, and do not approach to provoke a stronger reaction. A short surviving shot is preferable.
🏃 Escaping
Avoid attracting attention; stop filming and seek cover if noticed. Do not assume elevation or the diving bell makes you invulnerable.
Snail / Zombie
Snail / Zombie📍 Where or when to check
Old World; community aliases
🧠 Behavior
A slow-looking pursuer that grabs and damages on contact. Several in a confined area can obstruct the route.
🎥 Filming advice
Check the path and behind you before filming backward. Avoid backing into another creature or entering a group for a wide shot.
🏃 Escaping
Maintain separation and choose another route around a cluster. Do not treat pushing back as a reliable team counter.
Which creatures need the most care?
For creatures such as Big Slap, prioritize the way out over provoking a dangerous reaction for footage. Judge the current behavior, team positions and oxygen rather than a name or S–C label alone. The ratings are editorial priorities, not measured difficulty across all enemies.
How should I practice filming early on?
Keep a retreat route between you and the subject and practice framing from a safe stopping point. Even slow-looking enemies are dangerous on contact. There is no universal safe distance of 3–5 m; also check overhead threats such as Slurpers.
How should we regroup after getting separated?
Agree on a meeting point and return route before leaving, then call out positions if separated. Check voices, appearances and the route rather than chasing a figure into darkness, and regroup clear of nearby threats or machinery.
Does light stop every monster?
No. Official fixes describe EyeGuy attacking in response to light, so illumination is not universal protection. Watch the actual behavior, conserve batteries and keep a readable way out. Choose a response to the creature you have actually encountered.
