Gato Roboto

Gato Roboto: ability route, Decoder return trip and the final collection deadline

If you have an upgrade but cannot find the next route, check both your ability and the facility's state. Gato Roboto opens paths by draining water, cooling the Heater Core and finishing the Ventilation sequence. This normal route uses Aqueducts before Heater Core. It does not require rocket-jump skips or collecting everything during the first visit.

Rocket Launcher: return to your mech

Open solution / late-game details

At Landing Site, use Kiki's climbing and swimming to reach the mech. Later, leave the mech to pass through the narrow water route and collect Rocket Launcher. Bring Kiki back to the mech or a suitable save station before trying to break blocks with it. A new weapon does not give the cat the mech's firing controls.

Use rockets on the destructible blocks and progress past the first mouse fight to the Nexus lift. Remember this division throughout the game: Kiki fits through small passages and swims; the mech provides weapons. When you can see a route across water, first decide which form is supposed to cross it.

Aqueducts: finish the pumps before leaving

Open solution / late-game details

Take the western route from Nexus to Aqueducts. Switch between Kiki, the submarine and the mech as required. The three treadmill/pump sequences change the water level. Where the mech must cross on a moving platform, position it on the platform before getting out to run on the treadmill.

Finish the submarine fight and the last pump, then collect Spin Jump. Return to Nexus with the new double jump. Revisit reachable ledges and previously flooded side paths now, or mark them for a later collection trip. Leaving a facility after its boss without completing the final mechanism can leave the next route apparently blocked.

Heater Core and Ventilation: take the upgrades on the way back

Open solution / late-game details

In Heater Core, deal with both furnace encounters, descend through the newly accessible route and collect Phase. Continue through the lava barriers to the next mouse fight. After that fight, complete the lava-tank sequence and collect Coolant before returning to Nexus. The changed lava area also creates reasons to revisit earlier side passages.

Next, enter Ventilation. Its cat-only sections use local machines and hazards rather than mech weapons. After the chase, recover the mech and collect Bigshot. Finish the remaining switches and the flying fight, then activate the final ventilation switch. Only then make the return trip to Nexus and revisit the side areas affected by ventilation.

Decoder: the computer comes before the locked lift

Open solution / late-game details

After completing Aqueducts, Heater Core and Ventilation, speak to the central Nexus computer. Return to Gary's ship at Landing Site and enter the now-accessible ship interior for Decoder. Bring it back to the central computer to open the route to Incubator. Repeatedly checking the closed lift without completing the ship-and-computer trip will not advance this step.

Incubator: turn back before Laboratory

Open solution / late-game details

For a collection run, pick up the Tamagato cartridge near Incubator's entrance. Return to Rebba in Nexus once you have all 14 cartridges and receive Hopper. Repeater is Rebba's other cartridge reward; it is a separate upgrade and does not replace Hopper.

Return to Incubator with Hopper for the high Healthkit route. Hopper lets you reuse Spin Jump after Phase, so combine the movements to climb, then cross to the pickup and return. Check your collection before taking the large lift to Laboratory: eight abilities, ten Healthkits and fourteen cartridges. That lift is the one-way collection deadline. Do not postpone missing items until after entering Laboratory, and keep a no-Healthkit Danger Cat attempt separate from this collection plan.

Questions and answers

Can Kiki use a newly collected mech weapon while outside the mech?

Kiki handles narrow passages and swimming. Return to the mech or an appropriate save station before trying to use the mech’s weapons.
