🔄 Mission flow

1. Orders

Choose a mission with your spaceship

Select the purpose (mining, collection, subjugation, etc.) and level of danger before descending. The higher the danger level, the stronger the enemies and the greater the reward.

2. Descent

Dive into the automatically generated cave

Caves are randomly generated each time, and almost all terrain can be destroyed. There is no fixed route, and the strategy itself is how you dig.

3. Accomplishment

Gather resources while completing goals

Alongside the main objective, securing Nitra for ammunition resupplies is important. Progress while handling waves of attacking bugs.

4. Escape

Run to the escape pod

After achieving the goal, reach the escape pod within the time limit. The ability of the driller to dig a path here is often the difference between life and death.

💡 Tips for beginners

Prioritize collecting Nitra

Resources needed to replenish ammunition. If this is not enough, you will not be able to shoot in the second half. When you find something, the golden rule is to secure it right then and there, not "later."

Do not share the role

The four classes have clearly divided abilities. It is more stable to spread out movement routes (gunner), scaffolding (engineer), digging (driller), and enemy search (scout) than grouping them together in the same class.

Lighting is a lifeline in a dark cave

If you can't secure visibility, you won't be able to see resources or enemies. The liberal use of Scout flares and floodlights can clearly reduce accidents.

Think about your escape route first

After achieving the goal, you must head to the escape pod within the time limit. The deeper you go, the longer the way back will be, so be aware of your retreat as you dig.

Increase the risk little by little

Increasing the danger level (hazard) increases the strength and number of enemies. If you are not used to it, it is better to memorize the maneuvers and class roles at a lower level of risk, as a result, you will improve faster.

FAQ

Deep Rock Galactic FAQ

Q1 What kind of game is Deep Rock Galactic? ▼
A

This is a cooperative FPS for up to four players, where you play as a dwarf miner in space and dive into a cave. Caves are randomly generated each time, and almost all terrain is destructible. There is no fixed correct route, and the strategy itself is how you dig. Developed by Ghost Ship Games, published by Coffee Stain Publishing, Released on May 13, 2020, retail price ¥3,400.

Q2 Does it support Japanese? How many people can play? ▼
A

Yes, it supports Japanese. The number of players is cooperative play with up to 4 people, and solo play is also supported (a support robot will accompany you when playing solo). The supported platform is PC (Windows).

Q3 How many classes are there? Which one do you recommend for beginners? ▼
A

4 classes: Gunner, Scout, Driller, and Engineer. For beginners, we recommend Gunner or Engineer. Gunners can directly contribute to the team with zip lines and shields, while Engineers have easy to understand scaffolding and defense. Scout has exhilarating mobility, but on the other hand, it's easy to become isolated and fall down, so it's best to get used to it. Details are summarized on the [class explanation page](/en/games/deep-rock-galactic/classes/).

Q4 What should beginners pay attention to first? ▼
A

Prioritize collecting Nitra. It is needed for ammunition resupplies; without enough, you can run out of shots later. Collect it immediately rather than leaving it for later. Next, use lighting freely: dark caves hide resources and enemies, causing many accidents. Finally, increase Hazard difficulty gradually. Learning roles and movement at lower difficulty leads to faster improvement.

Q5 Can you enjoy it solo? ▼
A

You can play. It supports solo play, and a support robot will accompany you. However, since the division of roles between the four classes is central to the design of this game, it is a title that is at its best in cooperative play. There is no problem with getting used to solo and then moving to multiplayer.

Q6 What games are similar? ▼
A

Works with walkthroughs on this site are similar to Lethal Company, where you dive with a friend in roles, R.E.P.O., where you use physical calculations to transport you, and GRAIN ROT, where you escape and strengthen your base. It is similar to Core Keeper in that it digs underground.
