PLANET LAIKA(PlayStation)
📖 Changing between 3 personalities and how progression works
The core system of Laika harboring multiple personalities, together with the basic structure of story progression.
PLANET LAIKA — what should I check first in Basic systems?
Protagonist Laika has different personalities within their mind. The personality at the surface changes according to story and puzzle scenes, and the world is portrayed through that personality. Different perceptions, actions, and reactions are the defining feature: even in the same situation, a different personality changes available choices and information.
| Phase | Objective | Checklist |
|---|---|---|
| Early game | Learn the controls and personality system, and understand Mars and Laika's situation |
|
| Midgame | Connect personality changes to story and puzzles, maintaining steady progress between chapters |
|
| Late game | Face the convergence of personalities and story, interpreting symbols through the climax |

1. You no longer know where to go or what to do next
Cause: Progression hints are embedded abstractly in dialogue and scenery, and skipping them loses clues
Solution: Review recent events and dialogue, then systematically check people you have not spoken to, unexamined targets, and symbolic objects you have not interacted with
2. A puzzle or conversation goes nowhere and you keep circling the same place
Cause: Some elements are invisible or unresponsive from the current personality's viewpoint, creating a mismatch with its state
Solution: Identify the current personality; if it has changed, revisit the same place or person from the different viewpoint
3. Combat or difficult sections drain you too heavily to continue
Cause: Healing or equipment upgrades have been postponed, or you are relying on brute force rather than personality traits
Solution: Check healing options and equipment before proceeding, then adjust your tactics to the situation and make use of personality traits

- ▸ Personalities change with the situation, and you experience the world through the active perspective
- ▸ Each personality differs in perception, reactions, and actions, making them important to progress and puzzles
- ▸ When stuck, identify the current personality and reconsider through another's perspective
The game strongly favors story-driven, chapter-like progression, emphasizing narrative experience and progression triggers over combat and leveling. With much symbolic and abstract presentation, interpreting dialogue and scenery matters as much as understanding the systems.
- ▸ Reading the story and setting progression flags are central
- ▸ Treat combat as one part of story progression and manage depletion
- ▸ Interpret abstract presentation in connection with personalities and symbols
