🗺️ Travel through the four floating continents
Because the game takes you through four continents in sequence, remembering where you are and what you need to accomplish helps prevent confusion. Each continent generally has a base town where you gather information before heading to nearby dungeons. Dialogue often identifies your next destination, so speak with townspeople frequently. Enemy tendencies and mechanisms change by continent; test nearby enemies when you arrive to assess the challenge.

Shield guarding is a dependable defense against many attacks, and the basic flow is to block the opponent's attack before countering. Repeated left/right step inputs let you move quickly, so use them to circle from an enemy's front toward its side and reduce incoming hits. Defending first, watching the start of an attack, and then moving is more reliable than slashing blindly. Alternate guarding and evasion, then strike when the opponent's large movements leave an opening.

Weapons include long swords, dagger-like types, and blunt types, each with its own command techniques. Dagger-like weapons, for example, can use "Screw Slash," while blunt weapons can use "Rolling Slash." These techniques are powerful and dependable, but entering their commands can leave an opening, so watch the opponent and use them when safe. Different weapons change the techniques and feel of combat, making it worth switching to suit the situation.
