BALL x PIT Guide — Early Runs, Ball Fusion, and Base Building

Distinguish between released/basic strategy/Naturalist additional elements · Updated 2026-10-12

First choose which ball to develop during a run, then build toward your next unlock after returning to town. Do not only add more ball types: leave room to raise your chosen balls to level 3.

Become stronger by going back and forth between battle and construction.

Ball upgrades during a run and unlocks in town are separate forms of progress. Experience from enemies strengthens you during that run; resources and blueprints brought back expand your choices for the next run.

  1. Start with your initial character and check the enemy's descent and your retreat.
  2. Select duplicate balls and create candidates for raising them to level 3.
  3. When you return, check the blueprints, missing resources, and unfinished buildings, and decide on the next task.

Don't confuse free updates with unreleased expansions

Regal, Shadow, and Naturalist are free updates that have been delivered. If the options are different from the old strategy, first check the character you are using and the updates that have been applied.

Naturalist has added characters that use a lot of ball frames and characters that are closer to passive frames. Do not apply a standard number of slots to all characters.

The PC description on this page is the range of the confirmed Steam version. This does not mean that unlisted models are not compatible.
